just seen these in my local blockbuster 2 for £25
any one know if these are worth an upgrade
i cant find any reviews for the uk releases .

Chronicles of Riddick is a solid upgrade over the DVD, the alien worlds David Twohy created are so vibrant in colors you get squcked in the movie, details of the incredible costumes are splendid too (and Thandie Newton of course)

Don't have Pitch Black

The different colour tones of Pitch Black are offered a much better saturation and rendering compared to its previous DVD release.

I already owned both movies on DVD and did not hesitate when it came to upgrading them.
Plus, £25 for two is a pretty freaking sweet deal.

It's all a matter of subjectivity. What might appeal to me doesn't appeal to others. But I'm glad you've decided to go grab them.

I especially loved the blue tones in the first half of Pitch Black.

They have their fair amount of action, so they would probably look considerably good on BD, but I didn't like either. For me, even 25 is to much for those movies, unless your just buying anything to extend your collection. I'm surprised your blockbuster has blu-rays that cheap. The blockbuster dvds in my location have excellent prices (used Kung Fu Panda DVD $9.99 etc.) but the Blu-Rays are outrageous. I'll never buy one from the failing franchise of Blockbuster. My store only sells a few, but they are asking $34.99 and above for movies like The Incredible Hulk and so on that I could just go right down the street and get at Walmart of Costco for $5-10 cheaper.
