Default Sony Unveils New Games for PS3 and no price cut this fall

This is good news Sony is not going to cut the price of the PS3 and leave it at $599 this fall. They are hoping to have 90 third-party games and 15 first party exclusives to convince people to purchase the PS3 HDTV videogame system. If the PS3 really has 105 HDTV videogames coming that would be awesome.

The games are designed to play at 720p and 1080p, which makes them aimed at HD displays.

Yes all the BLU-RAY PS3 games are HDTV quality. Some people forget that PS3 system is a HDTV videogame system and that is why I used the term “HDTV videogames.” The PS3 has a head start over Nintendo and Microsoft. When Microsoft and Nintendo in a few years release a HDTV videogame system that uses BLU-RAY or HD-DVD then there will be over 10 million PS3 owners with all kinds of games to play. Long term the PS3 will do very well.

They need to focus on games AND a price cut.

No one from Sony actually said there would be no price cut in the Fall...the writer simply threw that out. That doesn't mean anything.

With the new games and 1.80 firmware update, I don't think the PS3 needs a price cut.

Games like RFOM that can't do 1080i for 1080i only sets can now be played. 1080p BD can be downscaled to 720p (bypassing 1080i which the non-1080p HDTV should be able to upscale to). This update is a killer. And there's still stuff we don't know about!
