Default Pioneer Elite Reciever Help!

Hey guys, I couldn't find the answer on any of the forums so I hope you guys can help me out. I have a Pioneer Elite VSX-94TXH reciever, and sometimes when I power it on along with my Sony 350 or PS3, it'll give me a "Not Support" message on the reciever, but when I turn it off and back on, it works fine, has anyone else had this problem? Thanks for the help!!

I have the 91 and mine does it if it's turned on before the TV . . . I think it's because it's sensing that the signal isn't really being received by anything, but that's just a guess. As soon as the TV comes on it stops.

yes mine also does this with my PS3 it has something to do with a handshake issue between the HDMI connection its more of an annoyance than a real problem...

Default HDMI handshake error

It sounds like an HDMI handshake glitch, I'il make a call to a friend @ pioneer tomorrow, to find out if it's related to the receiver or not. Have seen it happen with other brands using HDMI v1.2. Don't recall what the 94 is though. What display/tv do you have?

the 94 is 1.3 compliant. not sure if its reviever related or not. i thought it had something to do with the way it recieves the ps3 signal when everything is powered on at once like with a universal. it happens to me about every 6 times i turn my setup on. i just power down the reciever and bingo back in business..

I'll get back to you when I find out if there is a firmware fix, if indeed it's related to the receiver. Which I'm sure it is. Either way I'll let you know.

Yeah you're not kidding, the price is steep for that XBR8 but I was in a Best Buy a few weeks ago in their Magnolia section and I was blown away when I saw it, I'm getting that upgrade fever haha

it never stops I'm installing a 7.1 in-wall in-ceiling for the bedroom replacing a Yam sound-bar so I'm giddy can't wait for full on sound assault in the bedroom going to have to send the daughter to bed with ear plugs so she doesn't wake to the sound of flying metal and explosions

i went with the speaker company due to budget but from what i researched they are decent for what i need them to do. Driving them with a Sony 7ES reviever that was left out in the cold when i purchased the 94. Have a 42 Vizio LCD and a a PS3 so i will be set .....

That'll be awesome. Yeah I just can't stop spending, I just went and got a Harmony 1100 a few days ago and then a Sony S350 because that harmony wouldn't work with my PS3 so now it's in the bedroom haha, I highly recommend a harmony if you have not invested in one already!

I love it! I couldn't say enough good things about it. It is a little different since it's not the traditional shape for a remote, but after a few minutes, it feels perfect. I also got it so my girlfriend could easily use anything she needed and she also loved it. She thought I was crazy at first for spending that but the second she tried it I couldn't get it away from her!
