Default Is subwoofer popping normal?

When the receiver switches audio tracks, is it normal for the sub to pop? For example, going from the menu of a movie (2ch) to the actual movie (5ch). Is my volume too high?

I would say this is not normal too, and you are having trouble with your center channels volume level? I think maybe you need to start thinking about if there is something wrong with the receiver.

When you turn off most powered subwoofers, it is normal to hear a popping sound, but it is not normal when you change options from a menu.

I would say it is normal. My system does it almost every time it switches tracks.

Well, it is not exactly due to changing options exactly, it is doing what Driver King said above. Popping when audio tracks are changed.

I wouldn't have thought much of it, but I don't remember it happening before.

every time an audio track switches when I watch a blu an tv high def channels
its not a loud pop its like a tap or kinda like a tiny low pop real faint though, I have a klipsch sub,an i called them klipsch said its no big deal it should be fine, it sounds fine to me no problems so I think in some cases its normal

I thought it would damage the sub thats why I called Klipsch like I said they said it should be ok , but you can't really hear it you almost have to listen for it

It is not loud, but it is audible. I guess what confuses me is that it didn't happen before I moved it. The only difference is that it is plugged into a wall outlet, when before, it was plugged into a Monster Power Center.

it should not pop at all.. that is very strange. never heard of that before. something ain't right there my friend. in the long run it could cause the driver to age prematurely from the constant popping

if that's all then I wouldn't worry about it. I had the idea that it was really loud when it popped... it should not harm anything then with that minor pop.

still kind of odd though.

i get this sometimes in my fronts when i switch games/movies on the ps3. but it does not happen with the blu player. and its when the audio changes. like going from DD to dolbly trueHD. but like i said only with the ps3. i think its just normal audio changing in the receiver, like im breaking the handshaking of the hdmi.

I've never heard of or experienced that before. It's definitely not normal.
