Default Question for Sammy LN55A950 owners

I've had my 950 now for about 3 weeks and within the last week a weird glitch or something has got me wondering. When I'm switching tv channels, going from off air HD cable broadcast to the identical SD channel the tv will go black, I can still hear audio but no picture, then when I try to change the channel the tv shuts itself off and deletes the date and time from the tv as well.
Has anyone else come across this? I was thinking I should get BB to replace the set?

I had a problem similiar to this with my Sammy 650, but for me, it turned out that the plug into the back of the TV was not very snug and kept occassionally slipping out just enough to disconnect and ended up doing the same thing you explain above. It did it anytime and not just when I was changing channels. This may be worth a thought?

Cox Communications. But it has only happened twice. But as a $4000.00 investment I figured I'd be proactive and get BB to replace the set before the 30 day return thing expires?

Probably right, especially since you can return it. It could be the mother board for all we know.....and that would not be good at all!

No that wouldn't be good at all! I had a Hitachi 65" CRT set that went bad on me a month before it's warranty expired, the Sears tech came out and had to exchange the motherboard for a cost of $1750.00. Thank god i had the extended warranty cause i only paid $2800.00 for the set.

With my Sammy, for it to lose the time and date everytime you turn it back on, would mean it would have to be disconnected from the power source....but you say the thing is plugged in tight.....so it could very well be something quite expensive to fix for sure!

By the way....wow....if this is a bad 950 that really s*$ks for sure. Maybe the BB boys did something.....just a guess....?

You know those delivery guys, probably don't really care as long as they don't damage the box and make something too obvious?

If you are losing data when your tv shuts off something HAS to be wrong with it. I unplug my tv EVERY night and i never lose any data (like settings for movie mode). I would take it back and get a new one to be on the safe side.

Okay went into BB, getting my NEW A950 friday. Hopefully no weird glitches with this one. On a side note they lowered the price of the A950 to $3999.99.

Please post pics of that set! My local Bestbuy had the 46A950 in the Magnolia department.. all the tvs were hooked up to a 480i dvd player and they all looked like the brightness was cranked all the way up, i checked and the tv settings were fine it was the source. I asked for the remote and they said they didn't have one so i made some adjustments with the manual controls, EPIC FAIL Bestbuy
