Default Which 09 Summer Movie will be a let down?

There are a lot of high hopes for some potentially awesome movies this summer.

Inevitably, there will be some that will let us down.

Which one/ones do you think it will be?

I think the greatest 09 summer movie that has the potential to plow into the ground like a plane with no engines is. . . Wolverine.

From the reshoots, to Fox's messing around - I think this has a good chance of being on par with X-Men 3. (Sorry for any fans of that movie - I thought it was travesty).

Every trailer seems like the movie "wants" to be epic, but won't come close.

The thing that scares me most is that they are showcases some big effects scenes and they mostly look horrible. The part with some guy swinging on the ceiling looks like bad CG. Even the part with him hanging onto the helicopter looks pretty bad.

Hope I'm wrong - but I don't have a good feeling.

So, anyone else have a bad feeling about a movie this summer, even as they have high hopes?

Which one is going to be the let down?
  • Wolverine
  • Star Trek
  • Harry Potter
  • Transformers 2
  • Terminator 4
  • G.I. Joe
  • Angels and Demons
  • Night at the Museum 2
  • Land of the Lost
  • Ice Age 3

Feel free to list others coming out this summer that I didn't put on the list.

Terminator 4, there's no way it will live up to the first 3 films at all.

I think it has a chance of being as good as, if not better than T3. So much will depend on the story.

T3 had it's good and bad, but the ending made it a really solid film for me.

I saw the preview for Wolverine last night on tv.

I saw it in the theater as well........looks baaaaaaaaaaaaad. too much flying around and all the characters aside from Logan look lame. cheese factor is too high for such a character. seems like they missed the point on what makes him cool

My gut is telling me it will surpass them. I dont have anything to back that up...just a gut feeling from the trailers.

Oh yeah - added.

However, my expections for this were soooooo low - that I don't think it could be a let down.

Yeah, not one character showcased made me say, "Coooool!"; and in the X-Men universe, that should have been easy to do.

As much as I want it to be good, I'm afraid G.I. Joe will be the big letdown of the bunch.

It's also gonna be hard with Harry Potter I think. The 1st book is 309 pages (original hardback release) and the movie is 152 minutes long. The 6th book is 652 pages (also original hardback) so there's gonna have to be a lot of stuff left out to cut the movie down to a run time people will sit through.

Star Trek also has potential.

Star Trek.. not sure. It has the potential of making Star Trek "cool" to the mainstream crowd but at the same time has a lot of potential to just crash and burn putting Star Trek to rest.

Wolverine is something I have low expectations for. I have a very dark and brooding image of Wolverine in my head that I've had since reading the comics as a kid and Hugh Jackman's rendition isn't it.

You forgot Angels & Demons.

All of the movies listed should be mindless fun flicks. Didn't Harry Potter get pushed-back almost a year? Not a good sign.
