Default Hooking up the Samsung bd-p1600 to the internet

I have a Netgear wireless router hooked up that I use to connect to my laptop downstairs. If I bought the 1600 could I then get a wireless access point that would pickup the wireless signal from the router upstairs then run an Ethernet cable from it to the 1600? Would that work or have I got it all wrong and if so what would I need?

yes a WAP would work. I'am using one with my Sony S350. If fact, i'am using a WAP connected to a 5 port switch and my Receiver, Xbox and S350 are connected to it

Just watch out you must buy the SAMSUNG WIS09ABGN USB adaptor - the on-box advertising is misleading and suggests that a third party Wireless USB LAN adapter will work so add that to your budget if wireless LAN is a deal maker!
