Default Torn between 2 Model LCD TV's (Sony - Sammy)

Alrighty folks, I've been going back and forth on this for over a week now. I'm replacing a TV in my study room with either a new model 2009 Sammy or Sony. I've seen both and they look pretty decent.

I've been looking at the KDL40V5100 for Sony. ($1250)

Specs are:

-40-inch 16:9 Full HD 1080p Resolution
-Dynamic contrast 50,000:1
-Motionflow 120Hz technology
-Seven HD inputs, including four HDMI inputs (up to 1080/60p capable), HD component and combo inputs (1080/60i capable), and a PC input
- Bravia Engine 2

Versus

The Samsung LN40B550 ($950)

Specs are:

-HD-Grade 1920 (H) x 1080 (V) pixel
-Touch of ColorTM (ToC) with a stylish red tone
-Built-in digital tuner: (ATSC/Clear QAM)
-Game Mode
-Wide Color Enhancer2
-Contrast 70,000:1
-6ms Pixel Response

I mainly watch movies and sports, but also watch cable if a decent show is on.

The main reason I've been going back and forth between the two is the Sammy is 60hz while the Sony is 120hz. Which then leads to is $300 bucks more worth it. The Sony does 24p but I can;t recall if the Sammy does or not.

Is a 120hz display worth the extra cost? (Read other forums and some like, some don't.. I've seen a few, but depending whats playing and motion enhancer setting, the picture looks fake)
