Default Samsung bd-p3600 or Sony bdp-s560

Was all set to buy the Samsung bd-p3600. Now I see the upcoming Sony bdp-s560 with it's integrated wireless to be priced at $349 Should I wait?

Depends,.... how long do you want to play the game ? There will always be something "up coming" that will be "better",.... or have another feature that looks good. It's like "2 footitis" in boats !

Not necessarily worrying about features as much as quality. Seen a lot on this site about issues with the Samsung

I have had 2 Samsung televisions and 1 Samsung dvd player...never again. The quality in all 3 items was terrible. I have nothing but Sony now and I have no issues whatsoever. I recommend the 560.

Unless youre really in a hurry, Id go with the Sony, if for no other reason than better customer support!

Samsung is no better or worse than anyone else. All the manf. had problems with the first generation players. That turned some off to particular brands. I know there are a couple here that hate Samsung. In my case,...it was Phillips.

I currently own a Samsung 2500. It has been an excellent player. No problems at all,..plays everything thrown at it with excellent video and audio. The upscaling is superb,.....and it streams Netflix in HD.

The early Sony's had problems also,...though not as many as some. It's all a matter of preference. I don't care for how Sony does video on their TV's,.....so I won't buy them. Preference !

I completely understand but have resisted that "upgrade" as well.

Have you been to this site? Best boating forum on the net.

I have seen the Samsung complaints, but have not experienced the problems. I have had a Samsung 1400 for over a year and have never had a problem. I update the firmware when available and it plays perfectly. My brother has a Samsung 1500 and it has not given him any problems.
I think the majority of problems are with the first generation player, but that should be expected.

I'd get the Sony, but we're still 4 months from a release. I personally wouldn't want to wait.
