Default Anyone get the Denon 2500+receiver deal?

I was wondering if anyone went for the Denon deal where you get the DVD-2500BTCI Blu-Ray player for free if you buy one of their high-end receivers? Amazon has this offer until April 29.

I was thinking of getting the Denon AVR-2809CI receiver for $1194 and getting the 2500 for free.

However, honestly, the 2809 is more than I need. I live in an apartment with a large ~500 sq. ft. living room and am at least two years away from buying my own place. And I only have (at the moment) two old PSB floor-standing speakers and an old Infinity subwoofer. My TV is a Pioneer Kuro 50" plasma.

I could make do with buying the Denon AVR-1909 receiver for $649 plus a Playstation 3 (or BDP-S550) for $399.99 for a total of $1049. I don't think I would play many games.

I am pretty set with buying a Denon AVR-xxxx receiver (not their AVR-xxx line). And I would prefer to stick with Amazon.

Any opinions?

Also, can the Denon 2500 be plugged in directly to my Kuro (via HDMI)? I've read the 2500 is a "transport," so I'm not sure what that means.
