Default Got My Elite!

My brothers in blu. How's everything? I have some important News!!! I just replaced my Samsung 5084 1080p Plasma with a 50" Pioneer Elite Kuro PDP-111. I got the Pioneer Elite 50" brand New for 1875.98 with Delivery and it is scheduled to be delivered on Monday 4/27. I am so excited. I had to pounce on this one. The price was so low, thanks to my employee discount from my part time job! Im so happy, finally im getting my Kuro...my Pioneer ELITE Kuro! So yesterday, i was so excited I gave my plasma set to my brother for free, hey that's family....We put it in his Scion XB and Installed it in his Bedroom. That 50" looks HUGGEEE in his bedroom. I will post new pics the DAY i get my TV, So PICS WILL COME ON THAT MONDAY, 4/27. Leave some Comments Guys! OH BY THE WAY, WHAT SHOULD I DO AS FAR AS BREAK IN and THINGS LIKE THAT?

I own two Elites, have not "broke in" either set and have had no issues.
They are not your average set, you will be very happy with the way they preform!
cheers!

Thumbs up

Congrats!!!! I have the 60 Elite. My dealer said the only thing on the break in period is to limit video game play for the first 100 hours. Meaning only play video games for 30-40 min at a time; then watch tv or a movie then play video games. He said the only problem they have had is with a guy who played Call of Duty 4 NON STOP and he suffered some burn in issues. So, all things in moderation for the first 100 hours. Then, smooth sailing !

Oh yea, and NEVER use the Orbitor it decreases the life of the panel !

Congratulations on your purchase. I have the Elite PRO-111FD and I love it. The only thing that I did for break in was to let the TV stretch to fill the screen for the first several hundred hours though I did watch some Blu-ray movies that had the "black bars" in the time period.

Where did you hear that? I thought they are suppose to reduce the chance of IR and increase the life of the panel (as per pioneer manual).

Congrats OP on your new KURO. As far as break in and settings goes, you can find a ton of info here at avsforum.
Its not mandatory to run those break-in images. But I would recommend watching mostly full screen content for the first 100 hours of use. Good luck and enjoy your new set...and don't forget to post PICS!!!

I can't take my eyes off my Elite 111FD!

I believe you will experience the same.

I broke mine in for about 150 to 200 hour while waiting for a new cabinet/stand to be delivered for it.
