Default Signal problem with pioneer sc 05 and cable box.

I have a scientific atlanta cable box and the pioneer sc - 05 receiver. i am running an hdmi cable from one to the other and i keep getting moments where the video just blacks out for brief moments. has this happened with anyone else?? a cable guy once told me it happens because the hdmi inputs for cable boxes was newer technology and still problematic. that just seems ridiculous.

Default Signal problem with pioneer sc 05 and cable box.

I had this problem but with my sony blu-ray player where the picture blacks out. Go to set-up menu on the receiver and turn off HDMI control to off, on the receiver, this took care of my problem. Hdmi control should only be left on if you have other pioneer product only. Hope this helps you.......

This was happening to me a lot with my Sony. I figured out that it was a loose connection with the HDMI cable. I finally swapped out the bad cable and it doesn't happen anymore. So make sure you have good quality cables with a solid connection.
