Default Hugh Jackman asking for 'Avengers' crossover with 'X-Men' and 'Spider-Man'

Quote:
Hugh Jackman really loves playing Wolverine. He's proved it by being the only actor to star in every single "X-Men" film from 2000's "X-Men" up through 2014's "X-Men: Days of Future Past." He's the biggest vocal supporter of the movie franchise, which is why he has some clout when it comes to getting things done his way.

According to an interview he did with Collider, getting things done Jackman's way might one day mean having an epic Marvel crossover movie. Because Sony owns "Spider-Man" rights and 20th Century Fox owns "X-Men" and "Fantastic Four" rights, there hasn't been any crosspollination between franchises thus far. Jackman doesn't seem to think things will stay that way indefinitely, though.

When asked whether we'll ever see the Avengers fighting alongside Wolverine and Spider-Man like in the Marvel comics, Jackman says, "I literally asked the same question the other day to Tom from Marvel who works with all the other studios, he works with Sony and Fox, that's his job to liaise. I said, 'Man, can this happen?' and he goes 'Look, it's not gonna be easy because you're working with different studios and they're their properties.'"

Jackman continues, "But I believe -- maybe I'm optimistic, I understand at Marvel they've got 'The Avengers,' they've got a lot of big things going on, but at some point I just find it almost impossible that there's not a way to bring Iron Man, all the Avengers characters, Wolverine, the X-Men characters, Spider-Man, and somehow get them in together."

Does this mean we could potentially see Wolverine pop up in something like "The Avengers 2"? Jackman seems to like the idea.

"I don't see the impediment!" he tells Collider with a smile. "I'm like, okay you've got three studios, just split it three ways in terms of the cost, and happy days it's all coming together! I would love to ... I'm in for it, I'm totally up for it because I think that would be really exciting for fans across the board."

I really hope a crossover movie is made at some point. Like Jackman said, it would be really amazing for the fans. Please, Please, Please, happen!

Sorry, I couldn't resist.

It could work, if they create a story without an excess of clutter.

It could be done, but the amount of ego's involved. If an agreement came about, would Fox (Lauren Shuler Donner is she still running the show?) and Sony let Marvel do what they do?

Could splitting everything realistically work?

This'll never happen. Look how long it took to get Freddy and Jason in the same movie and both properties were owned by the same company. Jackman and fanboys wishful thinking

I would love to see that, but it will never happen. Sony will never give up Spiderman, and I know for certain that talk of a "joint venture" is quickly squelched.

They'll never agree on profit sharing.

Does Disney get 2/4 and the others 1/4 each? It's a mess to try and figure out what each franchise is worth.

By the time this ever happened all of the actors would be too old. It will be a bunch of grey haired men and woman using walkers and wheelchairs. We can all dream about this but let's face it, it isn't going to happen just because Hugh Jackman is open to the idea.

I think it will happen eventually, I mean let's be serious for a second. It's all about money, not the fans, not the actors. Only $ talks and when these franchises start waning, which they will, they all do, the studios will start making the deals. Because the $ will be impossible to resist.

We will see a "Marvel Team-Up" of sorts, it's in inevitable. Spider-Man vs. Wolverine? =$$$$$$$$.

Most people don't even know that Wolverine, X-men, Spiderman, FF4, Silver Surfer are not in the hands of Disney. Can someone breakdown the rights of all the Marvel characters? Are all the Marvel characters controlled only by Disney, Sony, and Fox?

And does Warner Brothers own all the DC supehero rights? If so, it seems like it would then be easier to make an epic DC superhero movie (Justice League) rather than an epic Marvel team-up movie (Infinity Gauntlet, Civil War, or Secret Wars, for example).

Since it would be too complicated to figure out how to split the money, they should just split it equally then - the damn movie would make at least 2 billion. I don't know why they can't just split that so that they can all be proud of the most epic superhero movie ever made.

If the Rebirth of Thanos/The Infinity Gauntlet was cinematically adapted with all the main characters involved, certain popular characters like Spiderman and Wolverine aren't even that important in this story. But I would assume that they give both those characters more to do in the movie.

If you really are asking about the story, its been well publicized esp on the FvJ Bluray. It was like what.... 17 scripts over the course of 8-9 years. Many issues getting it to the silver screen
