Default UPS through Amazon

I just upgraded to prime a few days ago and was really excited about getting 2nd day shipping and such. So I ordered a bunch of movies I, Robot and all of the kubrick releases. They were supposed to be delivered today. I stayed home waiting in anticipation and as it got later and later I began to worry and went to track the package and at 6 I saw that the driver falsified a delivery and said no one was home. The bastard skipped over my house lied about attempting a delivery and went back to the warehouse. I called UPS to complain and they said oh its not a big deal you will get it tommorow.

To me it is a very big deal, I paid 79 dollars to get 2nd day delivery from amazon and because of a lazy driver I am not getting that benefit. I feel really ripped off. Any one here have a similiar problem before. Anyone have any suggestions on what I can do.

email the ceo, I emailed the ceo of DHL about their driver signing my name for my packages and leaving them on the porch, unattended. When you have 1000.00 worth of merchandise lying around I tend to get concerned. DHL apologized and they forwarded my complaint to the local office and they replied and apologized, saying its not their usual business practice, just the driver was new and the holidays had him strapped for time.

The old pacifier excuse. Needless to say I avoid them whenever possible

Amazon did ship one package through dhl and they were better then UPS in this case. The guy did just ring the bell leave the package and leave but at least it got here.

I was just so mad when I called them to say hey whats going on the lady accused me of not being home after I told her I was home all day waiting for the packages.

I order tons of stuff from Amazon and everything is great and if the shipment is from Nevada it only takes 1 day to the Bay Area. However, there was this one time when I expected a shipment on a Friday but didn't get it on that day. I got busy on the weekend and forgot about it. The following Monday morning I checked the online status and it said it was delivered on Friday! After a few minutes with Amazon's customer service, they sent a new shipment overnight. When I went home later on that day (Monday) the UPS guy delivered the original order at around 6PM. UPS gets a for this practice.

No don't get me wrong amazon is great. The problem I have is with UPS. I am not happy with them at all. Is there a way to request that amazon use a different carrier?

Hey, at least you guys can get stuff delivered direct. All packages no matter how they are shipped go directly to the mail center. I can only pick up my packages when an attendant is in. On top of that, we can only pick up our packages after about one or two p.m. This practice really annoys me sometimes.

Nope. My UPS driver is great. He's polite, keeps it brief, and always takes good care of my items. Never had a problem with UPS. A few issues with DHL, but all minor. It's not so much who Amazon uses as who they drop-ship from, as Amazon drop-ships MOST of their media products. And THOSE warehouses pick the carrier, not Amazon.

Keep in mind this could all be an honest mistake. Maybe he read the address wrong? I had a package of mine end up in Oregon a few months ago, even though it said "delivered to <my address>" on the tracking info. Turned out to be a labeling issue at the packing level. Oh well. Stuff happens.

Now, if it KEEPS happening, THEN I'd be upset. But don't let 1 experience get ya down.

I'm still waiting on Amazon to re-instate my Seller Account after they wrongfully suspended it claiming I had "too many returns"... nevermind I have ZERO returns on my history... and 5-star, 100% feedback. Sheesh.

I just had a problem with DHL. My mothers birthday was on sunday, so I ordered flowers to be delivered on saturday. Through DHL of course.

Well she never received the flowers and the DHL tracking said they made an "attempt" and that no one was home...well of course my mom, her husband and my sick grandmother WERE home.

anyways, today talking to the DHL company they said the driver couldn't find the street?!! WTF? the street has been there for over 30 years, its in a pretty busy neighborhood. The lady looked it up on mapquest and said "oh yeah, there it is."

needless to say, Monday night, no flowers.

grrrr

sorry to go off topic.

Our UPS driver always has a habbit of calling our office in the afternoon to see if we have any pick-ups so he can stop or not. Never really had any problems shipping and recieving things with UPS. I always do ground shipment considering the 3 day select and 2 days aren't just worth the extra cost.

Now I've had problems with FEDEX and USPS. I always get this one guys mail and he always gets mine which SUCKS!

a few years ago, I was waiting for a package, but kept missing it but couldn't figure out why.... on the third attempt, I was sitting on my couch, watching the television, and I heard the bell ring..... I got up, walked to the door, opened it, and saw the driver going down the steps on the porch.... I stopped him, and he WENT TO THE TRUCK, GOT MY PACKAGE< and gave me my package, I signed for it, and I said "thank god I wasn't in the other room, you would have been half-way across the country by the time I caught you" he didn't appreciate it....... From what I can tell, he walked up, rang the bell, and immediately turned to leave..... he parked on the street so I didn't hear him pull up. I don't know what the guys' deal was, and why he walked to the door without my package.... he probably wasn't even planning on ringing the bell..... he had no intention of delivering the package..... argghhh... thanks for bringing back that thought for me... now I'm salty again!

Don't believe their damn excuses.

I HATE DHL!!! an extreme hatred for them! They have screwed up 95% of the things that have gotten shipped to me and my family.. Always just some lame lame excuse, promising that they will call the next day sometimes too and never doing so. Most of the time they have the excuse that they attempted to deliver but no one was home, but someone was indeed home.
Then sometimes when they FINALLY do deliver and no ones home they leave it out there and sign it themselves. Just like last week I was home and THEY DID deliver my 7.1 reciever. But the guy never rang the door bell, he never did anything but leave it on the step and drove off. He signed the name and that was that. They did this when they also delivered my christmas present for my little brother which was Rock Band. I DID NOT like having a 150 or 302 just left out there.
But i've had problems with almost every package ever sent from them and alot of times it takes me weeks after expected date before i actually get the package.

I believe DHL is just a bunch of franchises around the country. So the one in your area could be good or bad depending on how it's managed.

All of the delivery agents love me. I get overnight service from most of them - even if it's supposed to take 2 days. But that's because I work from home so they know that I am here and I treat them right. When it's hot out, I give them bottled water. When it's cold, I give them something hot to drink. I have packages coming in and going out all the time.

Sorry your delivery agent did a drive by on with your Blu-rayz.

Edit: Jeepers: I hope I didn't jinx myself. Now that I said that I hope I don't get screwed by one of the drivers.

It probably helps that you live on Uranus. You probably get good service there.

Complain to amazon, it won't happen though. If they get enough complaints they might change it, but here's the thing, as you can tell from here. All 3 of the major parcel delivering companies have the same thing happen. I really wouldn't expect much to change if they decided to ship only DHL or Fedex.

Well, he made 2 delivery attempts that resulted in no answer. Prolly part of why. But ya, it's goofy.
