I tried LED lights (you can see them in my HT photos), and I had one 24" bar on each side of my 58" set. This was plenty, so you'll be okay buying only one set.

I ended up returning mine to Costco, as I didn't really like watching my set with them on. I like watching in the dark, though it did look 'cool'.

Actually,i have another question.

How should i place the two lights behind the TV to get the best effect.
I just bought a pair a minute ago on E-bay

-Down the left and right
-Across the up and down back
-or in the middle ,across left to right one under the next, maybe 8 inches apart .
(i hope that one makes sense to someone)

I had mine up/down on the sides, about 1-2" from the edge. You should have just enough room to do this on a 50" set.

Yea I think if you are goign with two bars they should be vertical along the sides. Though it definitely looks cool with light glowing from all sides!

Ozzman, I recommend putting 2 behind your TV and 2 behind your speakers or out away from your TV, it will disperse the light better and give your set-up some definition! Check out my pics!

Glad to help. Remember, you don't "need" them for your plasma (to improve black levels, etc), but they do help with ambient lighting. Try one set first. If you like the look (give it a few weeks to be sure), then think about purchasing more for speakers, etc. At first I liked mine, but I soon realized I enjoyed watching my movies in the dark.

Should work with one bar horizontally on the top and bottom of the set.

I bought another pair of lights just seconds ago.

The way i look at it is i can set it up like yours or take forsberg advise and put a couple behind my speakers.

I like options.

Iam also thinking putting one across the top ,one each side vertical, then putting one underneath the top of my stand (far back) just because of how the stand is it will reflect the blue LCD.

I think it would look beautiful if i do it this way(who knows) .I do have a blue light bar behind my PS3 so that wall is pretty much taken care of.

Thanks guy's for your suggestions.

Don't be surprised that i buy more just to place under my couch,Yeah that's how sick i am

These LCD lights look very cool.

Would I get the same effect on my 61" DLP?
I have my component rack directly beside my TV so I'm not sure how good it would look.

Probably not very well as they need to be a few inches from the wall.

I have four LED light strips on the back of my 52". The ones in your ebay link dont really look like that great of quality. Check out this set-up, it is the kit I purchased and I am very pleased with it.
