Unhappy PIONEER LX70a BLURAY FREEZE PROBLEM

I own the above player & whats happening is is that every so often the player freezes whilst im watching movies, the buttons freeze etc u cant operate the front panel of the player even, it does say about the problem in the manual of the player & it advises pulling the plug at the mains to reboot just like you do a satellite box, i find it strange that a bluray player wud crash like this, has anybody else had any sort of problem like this? or does anybody know as to why a player wud crash?

My SONY BD has given me no problems. I did own a DVD player a couple years ago that did that about 3-4 times when it was new. Just as my frustration became pretty high, it stopped doing it.

That looks like the European equivalent of my 95FD. I have never had any issues with mine. Have you done a firmware update?

I've owned mine since last November and I've done maybe 2-3 firmware updates. Try it, there is nothing to lose.

I believe that the LX-70 is the equivalent to the BDP-94HD, which I own. I have encountered and reported here, numerous freeze-up issues. My unit is 100% firmware upgraded. When mine freezes up, I have no control whatsoever, remote or front panel. All I can do is unplug the stupid thing and wait about 5 minutes for it to load the disc. Then I have to search for the point in the movie where it froze. Thank goodness that I have a PS-3 for times like this.

If I experienced what you experienced with the 94HD I too will be royally pissed.

Anyways, it seems like the LX70 and LX70a are two different animals. Acccording to this, the LX70a is the equivalent of the 95FD.

I think ill try a system upgrade, altho im not 2 confident this will sort the problem, so i think ill stick 2 just unplugging it & plugging it back in b4 i watch a movie as it seems to be fine after that (altho it can be a pain) & i suppose im doing my small bit for the ozone layer lol
