Default Sony BDP S500 vs S350

If given that both are available for roughly the same price (say $20 difference) which is the best way to go?

I just tossed my 500, no dts-hd-ma audio and takes 3-5 min to load depending on the Bluray.

I can't speak for the 350, Sony left a bad taste and I went Samsung.

Would you mind fishing that out of the trash? I'll take it.

I never owned the 500 but it will not bitstream the high def codecs.
I have the 350 and it will. Load times are faster than older blu ray players.
I have not read alot of complaints about the 350 in either this forum or avsforum.

Thanks gents ... I think (given the choice) that the 350 is the ticket for sure.

Why not just get a ps3 instead? Mine have worked great.

The FAN NOISE on my PS3 is unacceptable for listening to Blu-Rays. I know some have said they have little or no fan noise but this is my second PS3 and still, the fans kick into high gear after 30 minutes or so when watching movies. I don't notice the problem so much (although it is there) when playing games as I am interacting with the video. It is enough of a problem to make me buy a stand alone BLu-Ray player. I will also improve the PS3's life span by not making it play movies. And before you guys ask ... it is ventillated as well as it can be other than hanging it in mid air from the ceiling.
