I'll be honest-- at the time XO: Wolverine came out, I wasn't really that perturbed by the whole Deadpool thing. I would tell people-- that wasn't Deadpool. That was Wade Wilson who got turned into Weapon XI. And at the end of the movie he gets his mouth unstitched, thus setting him up to be the real Deadpool in his own film.

At this point though, XO: Wolverine just flat-out isn't part of any continuity. And no I don't care that they flashed one-second of footage from it in Days of Future Past. Not only is it a bad film, it doesn't fit anywhere-- it has way too many contradictions with the other movies that are unexplainable. Singer at least actually fit The Last Stand story into his last film, he did not with XO: Wolverine (for example Stryker was a much younger man, as he should have been based on X2).

But I agree with you that it should be referenced as a joke somewhere in the film-- he already did in the trailer trailer (lol) so it would be funny if that thing actually showed up at one point or something. We'll see.

While the green band trailer is basically the same with just a few alternate shots and dubbed over dialogue, it does feature a fun gag after the trailer has ended (Jump to 2.25).
