I still think that the worst 'Saber battle is the Anakin/Obi-Wan fight.
Mostly because it wasn't a straight-forward fight, but was completely impacted by the environment.
They had to jump from place to place, balance on tiny platforms, swing from cables. Were in tiny hallways. It just made it feel like a letdown.

Grevious wielding 4 lightsabers at once should've been almost unstoppable. Of course he only used two at a time

But he had no knowledge of the Force. Force sensitivity is a huge factor in wielding a lightsaber.

I agree about preserving all of the theatrical editions, although Clones should really be the digital version and not the 35mm because they added the hand-holding at the end and changed the AWFUL "Yes" from Padme when that Clone Trooper asks her if she's alright after she's thrown from the gunship.

I watched the prequels not too long ago and the DNR was rather evident on The Phantom Menace.

Attack of the Clones is soft, but that was filmed with the first 1080p digital camera if I recall, so it seems inherent to the source as 'Sith looks good and notably better detail with improved digital camera advances.

No excuse for the originals. They are relatively crappy looking compared to many other movies which received at least decent remastering treatment. But, we're talking about a 10+ year old scan which is like the Dark Ages in terms of technology. Keeping fingers crossed Disney has something good in the works for next year.
The funny thing is they had to filter the images they were getting on Clones because it was looking too sharp and video like, so they filtered it down during shooting.

I'm still not sure what went wrong with the Phantom Menace transfer though. The de-graining has been expertly done for the most part, and given that this is a Lowry joint I'm inclined to think that this was done primarily for the 3D version (because less grain means less trouble for the conversion team) but Lucas liked the de-grained version so much that he left it that way. Boo-urns.

There is at least one other difference between the 2 versions.
Yoda's line at the end...
"Begun, this Clone War has."
"Begun, The Clone Wars has."

I don't know which version I saw in the Cinema, but I know Yoda's line was the top one.

****
EDIT
****
I think there was also a line difference with Obi-Wan as well...
Anakin: "We've come to rescue you, Master."
Obi-Wan looks up at his chains.
Obi-Wan: "Good Job."

Obi-Wan's line was different according to some people back in 2002, I just don't remember what it was that they said it was.

I dunno about the Yoda line, I think they changed it from the trailer to the movie but not in the movie itself. Another addition was that extra beat with Anakin and Padme when he throws a strop at the Lars homestead after killing the Sand People.

The Yoda Line is also different from the print I saw in the Cinema to the DVD.
Not sure about the Blu-Ray though.

The DVD has the second version of the line.

My biggest annoyance in the Clones blu ray is when Dooku is fleeing after his duel with Yoda they very slightly change how a few shots are ordered. The music cues sound really awkward now.

I just can't understand why they changed that. Doesn't make any sense to me at all.

I know exactly what you mean (awesome avatar BTW), but the music is hacked up so badly in the movie anyway that George probably thought a few more crappy edits wouldn't matter.

I was about to write what you wrote, lol! Yeah, the order change of those few shots botch the musical soundtrack badly. John Williams deserves much more respect than that! Again as many people have said in this thread, this was Fox's last chance to cash in before Disney got their hands on the movies. Although the extra content is great, the movies could have been rescanned, and the changes should have been minimal (like fixing lightsaber uniformity, special effects that need to be updated, those types of things). O well, I'm confident that when the time comes, Disney will release something really awesome for the movies that are already done and Episodes 7, 8, and 9!

I fear for the BD releases of the new episodes.
Judging from the Marvel releases being less and less comprehensive with the Bonus Features, these might be gimped as well

I could worry about that, but I worry about the actual movie itself, considering some of the spoilers that have been released...

To say he had no knowledge of the force would be inaccurate. He even says Count Doku trained him in Jedi Arts, whatever that means. Obi-Wan doesn't even use any force powers on him till later. Grievous just conveniently uses two out of four lightsabers at a time up to that point.

He trained him how to wield lightsabers, but that's about it. Grievous had very little knowledge of the force itself.

Dooku taught Grevious all the Jedi 'Saber fighting techniques. That's about it.

You're all missing the point. Obi-Wan fought back like a generic swordsman at first, and didn't even use any force powers (like force push) until the clones start showing up. Up to that point, Grievous wields four lightsabers, but only uses two of them. When he does use all of them, they all converge at one point. It's not a force issue. You could say Grievous was just dumb, but it's more than likely just poor execution on Lucasfilms part. When you think how many times Grievous could've used the other two lightsabers to cut off Obi-Wan's legs. Sorry, guess it just pulled me out of the movie a bit. The book however handles this more adequately tho...

And we aren't told explicitly if Grevious was trained only to use lightsabers or not although he admittedly doesn't use the force.

Yeah, I get that. Obi-Wan should have had a much easier time against Grevious because of the 'Saber convergence.

I do agree that the book was much better.

I would love for Disney to completely rebuild AOTC's audio track with Williams original track placement. Will never happen tho.

At least we dont have to worry about JJ butchering Williams score...hopefully.
