He was like #8.

Was Maul the only one with a double saber? That thing looks impossible to manuever. It would seem to be harder than a single one to use. I'd probably end up chopping my torso off by accident

8? Dooku was much more skilled than Obi-Wan and most of the Jedi for that matter.

I agree Dooku was more skilled with a lightsaber. If you do some digging regarding the different forms of lightsaber combat, Dooku was one of only a few that mastered close quarter combat. It is also why his lightsaber hilt is curved. I believe Mace was one of the others trained in this kind of combat. We really only see Mace in battle mode the one time against Palpatine so we don't really get a good glimpse of how good he really is. I would order them this way:
1- Dooku (trained for close quarter and multiple techniques)
2- Mace (same as above)
3- Yoda (same as above)
4- Darth Maul (used a more deadly lightsaber and was more vicious in attacks)
5- Anakin (pre-Vader)(was skilled but high midiclorian count increased his skill)
6- Qui Gon (was supposedly the order's best swordsman- in his youth perhaps?)
7- Obiwan (was skilled in basic techniques and was average at best)
8- Vader (was restricted in movement by the suit but made up for it in sheer strength)

Actually, everything states that Obi-Wan is one of the best 'Saber Combatants.

Grevious was not as great as you may think. Grevious' lightsaber collection that we see mostly comes from Jedi Knights and Padawans according to the books and graphic novels. He never really fought a master until Kenobi. That was luck with Maul. He did not beat him with his lightsaber skill. In fact Maul beat him.

I was just replying to your comment. Grevious was simply not that great of a lightsaber wielder when compared to Obi-Wan, Yoda, or some of the other masters. Also, Dooku only had a few years to train him to use the lightsaber.

He left himself open to many attacks. Dooku taught him how to improperly use a Lightsaber. Grevius is all flash, no substance

I'd put Dooku up there with them. In the canon books there is a lot of time spent by Yoda saying that Dooku was the best lightsaber combatant in the Jedi order before Dooku turned his back on the entire order.

Going purely by the movies, and gut feeling, this is my top five:

1. Darth Sidious
2. Yoda
3. Count Dooku
4. Darth Vader
5. Qui-Gon Jinn (Didn't he like unlock, or rediscover, the secret to becoming one with the Force? Has to count for something)

Maybe, after Episode VII, Luke will be up there. We'll see.

We all want the original versions of the original trilogy on Blu-ray, of course, but I would also love a better version of Phantom Menace... one that hasn't been "touched up" to match Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith.

I keep putting these in my shoppping cart every time i go to the store, yet I remember how absolutley terrible they all look!
So then I drop them back down a few aisles later.

This series deserves much better treatment than it has been recieving since it first got ported to LaserDisk!

Yes, they really are unimpressive from a PQ standpoint.

I watched the prequels not too long ago and the DNR was rather evident on The Phantom Menace.

Attack of the Clones is soft, but that was filmed with the first 1080p digital camera if I recall, so it seems inherent to the source as 'Sith looks good and notably better detail with improved digital camera advances.

No excuse for the originals. They are relatively crappy looking compared to many other movies which received at least decent remastering treatment. But, we're talking about a 10+ year old scan which is like the Dark Ages in terms of technology. Keeping fingers crossed Disney has something good in the works for next year.

Does that make it less impressive? Or are double light sabers extremely hard to use, making it even more impressive?
Sidious - killed 3 jedi masters in seconds. then toyed with Mace Windu until Anakin arrived

Count Dooku - defeated Anakin and Kenobi, then fought yoda to draw

Darth Maul - forced Qui-Gon Jinn to run away during first fight. killed Qui-Gon Jinn and pretty much beat Kenobi but Kenobi miraculously slices him in half even though Darth Maul had plenty of time to block Kenobi's attack

Anakin Skywalker - defeated Dooku, a bunch of jedi kids and a whole tribe of Tusken Raiders

yoda - for a jedi he's decent. fought Dooku to a draw

depends on what universe we are talking about?

the OT
the EU
or the joke universe the prequel series was in

For PQ I'd rank them like this:

1. ROTS
2. ESB
3. ANH
4. TPM
5. ROTJ
6. AOTC

ROTS being a long way ahead of the others.
