This would have been the perfect opportunity to release the original theatrical versions of the original trilogy. It would be neat to see the Imax cut of Attack of the Clones hit Blu-ray as well. It's better than the theatrical version. And also the original theatrical cut of The Phantom Menace. But I guess my wants are falling on deaf ears. What do we have to do to get the original trilogy cuts in HD? Fans would rejoice. The studios make money. Isn't it a win/win?

I was just thinking the theatrical cut of TPM like the UOT is only available in non-anamorphic, and its not even on DVD, yet you barely see people complain about it.

I hope this new set tanks. They really have some nerve.
"Hey, let's put out another edition of the (same) Star Wars movies! they'll be plenty of suckers that will buy 'em.."

If you have the DVDs you have all the best extras. The stuff on the BD set is very superfluous to the quality extras on the DVDs.

First come, first serve. Fix the first three first.

... and not to mention, to those that the UOT matters to the most and are vocal about, pretty much also disown the prequel trilogy in its entirety.

After I got my Blu-Ray/DVD Combo Pack of The Star Wars Trilogy I borrowed the Complete Saga Set from a friend and checked out the extras and I was honestly not impressed. The deleted scenes were interesting but after I finished watching I felt that they could have included better material.

The Bonus Disc from the 2004 DVD Boxset of The Star Wars Trilogy features a terrific set of extras and I've watched that disc multiple times over the years. Those extras from the 2004 DVD Boxset always feel new to me.

My LaserDisc Boxset of the 1997 Special Edition Versions of The Star Wars Trilogy features a half hour documentary on the making of the Special Edition and it has NEVER been ported over to a DVD or Blu-Ray release of The Star Wars Trilogy.

The extras from the Complete Saga are quite excellent, they're just broken up over the two discs. There's not a big meaty documentary like Empire of Dreams. Here's some of the new Episode 1-3 documentaries running one after the other, compiled by a fan.

All that I want is one box set on Blu-ray that includes every single extra, outtake and original/alt cut that has ever been released. Then, I could sell off all previous versions of SW that I have ever owned and be happy with just that one box. But, since this upcoming release is not that, then, probably gonna sit this one out. I do love the artwork and steel-books...but...

That's doesn't really happen with Star Wars, going back to the VHS and LD days. The only ones I can think of are the vintage documentaries on the Saga Blu-ray set.

Yeah, I just want it to happen. I love the idea of having every thing SW in one box set. I want to free up some room on my shelf. I have way too many SW releases. We can look to the future with VIIl but it would have been nice if they could have wrapped up the past with an "everything included" box set.

Perhaps because no right-thinking Star Wars fan cares about that cinematic abortion, regardless of which cut of it is presented?

Has it been said what the "new" archival extras on the three additional bonus discs are going to be? Sorry if this has already been answered.

It's pretty rare that happens for any movie really, unfortunately. Licensing issues or just wanting people to buy multiple copies keep it from happening. That said in this case I really do wonder why they didn't slap the DVD extras on there in SD. Wouldn't have been hard, and it's the same company. Who knows.

It's annoying I have to keep the DVDs for the 4 great documentaries.

Yep, it's cool stuff but it's a pig to navigate through on the discs and the other disc of documentaries is fluffy ephemera. I'm still disappointed with the overall package especially them leaving off the existing deleted scenes from the prequels, some of which were completely finished (like the archive droid scene from Clones) and were begging to be seen in full HD quality.

He didn't take on Han though, he let Vader do all of the work for him. The only thing he did was follow Han and then called for Vader off-screen. In the next movie he gets killed by a blind man with a broomstick that hits him BY ACCIDENT.

Vader is on Ep. 4'd art, so would you say Fett or a Stormtrooper was more important? My point is that Boba would make more sense than just a legion of people who can't hit anything. There's also the fact he is a fairly popular character.
Oh, and his death? Speculated spinoff film says hi. While it is currently said to be an origin story, I could see it becoming something after ROTJ. And the expanded universe, which supports the idea of him escaping in numerous different Star Wars timelines. And if you don't believe the talk of a spinoff, here's some articles.

I think the Ghost of Hayden Christensen should be the cover art for Jedi, and different poses of Chewie should go on the other two. Pictures of dogs taking shits should be the cover art for the Prequels.
