I'd be interested in anything you can link to that shows Fox does NOT own Episode IV in perpetuity. Lucas made a deal to have sole rights for all of his movies AFTER "Star Wars," with Fox having distribution rights until 2020. This, however, does not include the "first" film.

Anything Disney/Lucasfilm does with EpIV will have to have Fox's involvement. And Fox loves money, so ... they'll play along.
That is from 2012.

OK, I'm NOT getting back into this again... in fact!

The packaging is remastered and that is a fact. You people are just complainers, who even cares about the films at this point? I'd buy just the boxes quite frankly, which are now twice as nice at half the price.

I can't wait to smell them. Dig around in there, touch the boxes. Really open them up and close them. Get deep in those things, cause trouble in those boxes

Prefer the older packaging, not a fan of these covers. So, a nice and easy skip since the discs are the same.

Never got the first release. Won't get this one.
Dust yourself off and try again, Lucasfilm...

Thanks. I appreciate your backing up your claim.

I wasn't arguing; I was genuinely curious and asking a legitimate question. I have seen nothing in print that states Disney will own/does own/can ever own Episode IV. There has been, however, plenty about Fox owning it in perpetuity.

EDIT: Here's another example: http://furiousfanboys.com/2015/04/fo...e-from-disney/ From 2015.

All of the movies are available via Disney Movies Anywhere. Except for one.

There's a difference between "It" and "Its distribution rights." That's what people are saying. Fox owns its distribution rights, not rights to the property itself. Fox has no claim over the original film elements, the negatives, the ability to remaster the film, etc. If Disney chose to go ahead and do an extensive remaster on the original film and press it to BD, for example, Fox would merely retain the rights to distribute that specific release and profit from its sale. Fox could choose to not distribute the film, effectively blocking its release (but then again, that would be an insanely irrational move, as it would be simply denying their own company free money), but they don't own the property itself.

Why? Boba is only in like maybe 10 minutes of the movie, 15 at most. He doesn't even actually do anything.

Meh. When he says Disney would have never purchased Lucasfilms without knowing they'd get total control of Ep4 he's just talking out of thin air. He doesn't know what he's talking about and there are plenty of reasons I laid out as to why Disney would purchase without any guarantees they get Ep4 distro rights.

It took me a long time to give in, but give in I did. If the DVD versions of the original trilogy looked nice I would have stuck with them, but they were laserdisc rips. In the end I choose decent quality over the original cuts.

In the steelbook section someone posted pics of the insides. They are very nice. Also, it has been stated that the back have heroes on them. For those wanting Jango on Ep II, he's on the back. :P

Because he's actually a rather important part of the film, as he does take Han Solo. Screen time does not dictate how important a character is to a movie.
And after all, it would definitely be better than a Stormtrooper. While they are important, they can't shoot a damn thing and ultimately just slow down the Rebels in the time it takes to kill them, while Fett actually got away with a kinda important character to the franchise.

Oh, and no. It would be rather obvious if they were, as tons of people would be flipping out in here. When there's only one or two pages of discussion from new releases, you know the original theatrical films aren't included.

Ha, no. That would be the shortest breach of contract lawsuit in the history of Hollywood. Fox is under contract to distribute the films when and where LucasFilm directs them to. They can't say no. They say, "Yes, Ms. Kennedy, when do you need it done?" and then they get their cut.

Same discs in the new full collection as the old, nothing new.
Steels I don't believe will have the three bonus discs, though.

Still though there is definitely room for improvement. Star Wars has as much or more potential for ridiculously amazing packaging than probably any other movie(s) but they haven't knocked one out of the park yet. Maybe if the un-altered versions ever come out in a set they'll do something truly remarkable. I find the lack of other characters kinda odd on the Complete Saga though. Also the Steelbooks all have baddies other than Yoda, would have been cool to see some other main characters that were good guys on the Steels too. They do look nice though I think.
Good guys are on the back, except for Ep II. It has Jango.
