Personally, If I were to upgrade, I would wait and make a bigger step up than that. My recommendation is stay with what you have until you can make a larger leap forward in subwoofers....

I agree with McLoki. Yes, you will notice a difference and the PSW10 will sound better, but there are better subs for just a little more money, such as the $150 range. There are a lot of people on this forum that will recommend the Acoustic Audio HD-SUB10

it's a lot better than the PSW10 and it's gonna cost $168

Thanks for your answers!
Or you could re-think your approach and check out NewEgg for new front speakers? If I were to build up from a HTiB set-up, I would get the front soundtsage improved first. Since you already have the center channel taken care of, may I suggest new front speakers, perhaps Polk Monitor 50's or 60's, depending on your budget. You'll notice a huge difference by doing so. Then I would check out a better sub and finish up with the surrounds. Down the road, a new receiver will be in order too, so you can pump some juice to those new Polks!

I agree completely. Address your front soundstage first and then get a different subwoofer with new AVR after that. The improvement in performance of your overall setup will be greater and more immediate with the suggestion left by forsberg21.

I remember when i bought a cerwin vega sub and it was a passive sub and when the bass came it was moving the speaker all over the place and I also had little surround setup back in 87.I thought it was cool back then the htib of today makethat setup I had look like a joke especially their sub is off the chart rating compare to the sub of yesterday.the sub now is good enough if you live in an apartment, But in a home you want what good out there and you might want to save just a little more for the sub depend on your lifestyle and your situation Its alot of good subwoofer out there because of today tech so take your time, there a sub for every lifestyle out there.
