Default Heroes - Worth the Upgrade?

I searched for some topics, but nothing showed up.

For those who have watched Heroes season 1 and 2 on Blu-ray, is it worth upgrading from the regular DVDs?

I've heard some mixed things, so I've been hesitant. That hefty price tag isn't helping, either.

For certain. Because if HD broadcasts usually look better than dvds, then it should be upgraded.(not to mention the exclusives)
The First season is the best, so get that first.

The picture quality fluctuates a lot. Some scenes have great quality, others look like crap. Can't speak much for the sound, but the picture quality fluctuations definitely will draw your attention.

Overall, it is HD and it is good. I'd definitely recommend it to anyone interested who doesn't own it on DVD, but I don't know if I'd be so willing to recommend it to someone who'd be double dipping it, particularly due to the heavy cost on it... Amazon has a bundle of both available seasons for about 87 bucks; kinda silly to spend so much money to get something with a little higher quality. I mean, I can totally understand rebuying movies and things, but that's almost 100 bucks (or more if you consider what the DVD cost you already) and the quality increase that you're paying so much for isn't even consistent.

I guess you could wait though. I'm sure the price will come down a lot or maybe there'll be a good priced bundle with the 3rd season when that comes out. You might even be able to get a good deal on a used set.

I wouldn't upgrade for the price that they're at. I have them both on Blu-ray. They look and sound great but you should invent in some new titles unless you're just a complete diehard Heroes fan and think you need it.

It's amazing that one person can almost make an entire forum look bad.

Thanks to everyone else. You guys saved me a good chunk of change. Afrobean's idea wasn't bad at all; waiting for season 3 to come out and getting the inevitable bundle that they'll sell (even if I did dislike season 3).

It looks a whole lot better than the DVD and the HD presentation on NBC. Some scenes look bad though, but not SD bad. I'd get it.

Hey hey, season 3 isn't over. The next story arc, Fugitives, will be featuring the big writer from Season 1 who left after the glory days of Season 1. Expect this show to get better beginning early 2009.

Nice. However, some people have noted the lack of the "ordinary ppl, extraordinary powers" vibe that the first season had. I'm just saying, don't expect everything to be restored to the glory days.

Unfortunately, we have more than one person here that fits into that category.

Haven't seen a single episode of this, but was impressed when I saw a trailer recently. I might have to just get it at some point.

Actually, that's exactly what they want to do again. Word is, Claire will go back to school, Peter will go back to nursing sometime either this season or next.

i hope it goes back to the way it was. i started watching this show late. when i rented the first season, i was instantly hooked. i watched that whole season in a matter of a couple days. then downloaded the second season from xbox live since it wasnt available on my Apple TV just yet and now it is a top priority recording on my DVR. the first season was absolutely amazing and i definitely recommend this show to anyone who hasnt seen it. at least rent it and give it a chance!!

save the cheerleader, save the world...

Yeah, well it's a start, but I was sora thinking that new characters would be required for the full transition to occur.
