Hi all,
since January I have my BDP-S500 (no firmware updates until now) hooked to my Sony KDL-X2000 1080p via HDMI (bluray disc PQ superb, although NO DVD upscale noticed). The blu-ray player is connected to my Sony STR-DB940 via optical cable (sound OK). Would I get better sound experience connecting my S500 to amplifier via analog cables or should I stay with optical? Thanx Ninel |

It all depends. Does your receiver have multichannel analog inputs? If it does, I would use that. Some people argue that sound passed through multichannel analog is superior to any digital signal that is used for lossless audio. I hope this helps.
