They are about equal. Of course, on another forum they are cherry picking certain frames and zooming them 200% to show the HD DVD looking slightly better, yet ignoring scenes where the BD looks slightly better.

Yeah, its a wash. Some scenes look a hair better on HD-DVD, some scenes look a hair better on BR. Tie ball game DTS-MA and the EE option pushes the BR to the top though. Cant wait!

How can you put a masterpiece like Braveheart in the same sentence as King Kong and Saw 5.

He wasn't comparing the movies. Even though Braveheart actually isn't coming out then, all the poster was saying was that they were all coming out at the same time.

True. And thanks. Braveheart is a masterpiece but King Kong on Blu will be epic. Seemingly better than the HD DUD version (which it should be)

How are you not comparing the films when you say King Kong is the best of the bunch.

Also there was nothing wrong with the HD version of Kong, granted the Blu release has both versions on one disc as well as upgraded audio, but the PQ was pretty damn good imho.

Braveheart may be the better film, but I think King Kong will be the more exciting Blu ray. There are critically acclaimed films out there but I wont upgrade to Blu just because. It needs the whole package-PQ, SQ, SFX, replayability, yada yada. Who cares anyway? Ill keep my 3 disc DVD for special features and such but I still think King Kong is worth an upgrade. To each their own man.

There was a small problem with the HD DUD version-the CGI scenes stood out. IMO

Definately. The DD+ track to this day is still one of my absolute favorite audio track on HD media and the DTS-MA can only improve things.

No way. They cannot be THAT bitter. I refuse to believe this........Can they?

If this is true, then this is sad beyond words.

There are a few people on the forums who review for certain sites and get advanced review copies.
