Thumbs down I Hate UPS!!

I track a package all day, see the truck drive into my Apartment complex at 6:30 p.m. and although I needed to take a shower I waited for him to come to my apartment first. After waiting an additional hour I check the status again and it says "delivery attempted". I'm literally 3 feet from my front door at my dining room table. NO ONE CAME!!

They've done this before and they could care less that the driver just quit for whatever reason and lied about attempting. He didn't even come and not knock since no yellow slip was left as it should have been. I hate UPS so much, why can't Amazon switch to FedEx?

Just needed to vent.

The thing is I shouldn't have to try and accomodate them. FedEx and USPS have NEVER had issues getting to my apartment. Besides, no one in my family even lives in Florida except me so that's not an option anyway.

I believe I've gotten something once or twice from FedEx that I bought on Amazon as well. Besides actually getting to my place at a reasonable time (around mid-day as oppossed to after 7 p.m. with UPS) the boxes are never destroyed. I just wish I had the option of choosing the shipper when I purchasing something from them. I'd even prefer USPS over UPS.

My purchase that came FedEx was my PS3 and I thank God it did. The FedEx guy knocks on the door a few times so that he can give you the package in person and have you sign. The UPS guy leaves it at the door and doesn't even knock....

So if I hadn't been home when my PS3 got here it would have been left sitting on the step had UPS delivered it...

I can understand your frustration but in my case it is exactly the reverse. Every single order from Amazon shipped through UPS has been great. All my issues as far shipping from Amazon is concerned has always been with FedEx. And I've experienced exactly what you've described here with FedEx guys. Heck I am expecting a package delivery for tomorrow from Amazon through FedEx and all the tracking says is "Shipment has left seller facility and is in transit" since it left yesterday afternoon.

Ha! That's fun!
I feel USPS, Fedex and UPS are all trustworthy.
One thing really bothers me about UPS is that, any parcel shippd via UPS invariably gets charged by our customs.
I hate UPS and Sierra Trading Post (which insists shipping via UPS).

I've had this happen before. I was sitting on my front porch all day long and I had a couple trucks drive by and deliver things to my neighbors but not a single one came to my door.

Usually they just leave it on my porch. I live out in the country so there's no risk of theft. That sucks. UPS came today actually. I met him halfway which makes it faster. I'm one of those guys who gets excited with the UPS man comes some I'm always looking out the window.

UPS definitely sucks. I've had that happen to me before. Once I was home all day waiting on a package. No one knocked or wrang the doorbell all day. I walk by the door and see the sticker on the side light saying they attempted delivery. That lazy S.O.B. could've at least wrang the doorbell.

This happened to me once. I was actually sitting on my front porch with my laptop waiting for the package to be dropped off. They drove right by, I checked the tracking and it said 'delivery attempted.' I immediately called their Customer Service and they contacted the driver. He was back within 15 minutes. I've never had an issue since.

Those jerks always due that to me with packages that need a signature. When I ordered my receiver I was freaking out because they went to my neighbor across the way and left the note there even though the idiot driver saw my place when he turned around. I never have a problem with FedEx and USPS doesn't mess with me after I complained because the mailman was to lazy to come to the door.

I had that happen when I lived in an apartment as well. Tracked it all day, saw the truck driving around the complex, drive right by without stopping and next thing I know, it says they attempted.

I learned that UPS depends entirely on the driver.

Whenever I have UPS deliver to my parent's place, the driver always rings the bell, and requests a signature on the pad. Then he asks my parent's name and inputs it into the little machine he carries around. Very polite. Very friendly. Always chats up my parents saying "It's for your son. He's spending more money. He orders too much stuff." and laughs about it trying to get me in trouble (which he does most of the time.) The driver knows my name. If my parents aren't around, he takes it back and delivers again later in the day or the next. He never leaves it with a neighbor or just at my door.

Whenever UPS delivers to my house, the driver rings the bell and I never have to sign for anything. If I'm not around, he leaves it with my neighbor with a yellow slip on my door. Never leaves it at my door.

Can you guys guess where I have most of my packages delivered?

Indeed, it does depend on the driver. I've had several different UPS drivers deliver to my house. Some just run up the walk and drop it on my porch, not bothering to knock, ring or otherwise determine if anyone is home. Some do knock/ring and have me sign for the package. USPS is the same. The lazy carriers just put a "pick up" slip in my mail box, never attempting to deliver it. My current carrier always pulls in my driveway and brings the package to the door. I've only had a few Fed-Ex deliveries, but they were all very professional, knocking/ringing and asking for a signature. It just depends on your driver.

This is not UPS (in general)'s fault. Complain to your local UPS delivery station about the driver. You can just tell them you were waiting at your door the whole day and he did not even attempt to enter your apartment complex. This is frowned upon by the UPS we have here. He may get replaced or shifted to stocking rather than driving.
