it's probably upscaled because Family Guy isn't broadcast in HD.

The prequel movies already were parodies, though

(just not very good, or funny ones)

with I and II I would have to agree, but you can't deny that III was awesome

I also wonder if they're going to release blue harvest anytime on BD.

i doubt we'll ever see the prequels get the family guy treatment, but it would be cool. Although they wouldn't be able to go to town on them, Lucas only allowed sound effects and rotoscoped footage (the ship battles) as long as he got script aproval, thats why none of the jokes are too harsh at star Wars expense. Rumour is that a leia kisses luke joke was asked to be removed from "something, something, something darkside" probabaly because Lucas relaizes that it proves he didn't have the story maped out when he wrote that scene in empire and he doesn't want attention drawn to it.

Although i liked the jab in the special when yoda says "there is another" to herbert (obi wan), thats another part of the OT that makes no sense and is further proof Lucas never had a set plan on how to end the series until he began making Jedi

I'd love to see Family guy continue these parodies, perhaps Lucas would allow the first three indy movies to be spoofed, or maybe Zemekis would allow BTTF to be pariodied, or more likley FOX fa ranchise like Planet of the apes, or alien could be spoofed

This may not be a confirmation, but on the Cleavland Show, Cleavland was complaining about some things and he says "And they also expect me to be in all 6 of the Star Wars parodies"

MaCfarlane already stated that they werent doing the prequels. If I remember right it is on the Blue Harvest bonus features but I dont really remember. He said that it just takes to much time and that the better 3 are enough.

The implication of "only on Blu-ray" is that it's ONLY on Blu-ray. That is, it's NOT available anywhere else, even DVD.

Pretty sure this thing is getting a DVD release though, so a tag saying "Only on Blu-ray" is just wrong.

Some folks have said the latest seasons has been broadcast in HD, just that it's matted to 4:3. That's how they should do it. Make it HD, but present it in 4:3.

I will probably just buy the DVD, might depend on the price I see here. In Canada it might be over priced for a 50 minutes long movie. I might just wait for a release of all 3 together later on for BD

I would like to know too. If it's just an upscale, I'll do the unthinkable...buy the DVD, because I know Blue Harvest won't make it to Blu (not made in HD, I believe)

Default FG on Blu Ray Really?

Not to be anti-blu ray but does this really need a Blu Ray release? what benefit does one get viewing FG in Hi Def when its just a 2D cartoon not anything like what you get with 'Cars' or 'Monsters Inc' I still will likely buy it as I love this parody series, but will likely go for the DVD versus the Blu-Ray as I see no benefit to having it on BR

If this was created and animated in any resolution higher than standard definition (720x480), then of course it will benefit from being presented on Blu-ray....that is currently the big question that needs to be answered....the fact that it is a 2D cartoon has nothing to do with it....

Even if it was only made in a SD resolution, I'll still be getting the BD, as it will actually be cheaper than the DVD at Target after using both their $5 off store coupon and the $3 off manufacturers coupon....

Even if it's just SD upscaled, it will still provide better audio.

Even if the audio isn't lossless, it will still be a higher bitrate.

And even if they were completely the same in quality, the prices would still be similar.

And it could also be that they're testing the waters of BD releases with this title. If it sells well, perhaps there will be a push to animate in HD if they aren't already, and if they are already, there could be a push to release on BD from now on, as they apparently will begin doing with Simpsons as of the latest season.

Simple 2D animation look terrible in DVD. Venture Brother is a proof of that. Remember some of us are looking at them at 106 Inch +
