Default Hellraiser???

I see that they are introducing a standard-def "anniversary" edition of HELLRAISER. I think it and the first two sequels would be awsome on BD. Has anyone heard about these titles coming out on Blu?

The first two Hellraisers are Anchor Bay releases, the third one is Paramount Studios release and the fourth and fifth one are Dimensions releases.

After the fifth, I stopped following this series. It has sort of worn out its welcome.

I am anxiously awaiting the first 4 Hellraisers on Blu-ray though.

Since Anchor Bay just released their first 4 Blu-rays a few weeks ago, it is only a matter of time before we see Hellraiser as well.

By the way, it seems the original Hellraiser may see a remake shortly. Check the link below:

I heard the last 2 (6 and 7 or 7 and 8?) were coming back to good roots, even think Barker came back (not as Director)

Hellraiser 1 & 2 are Starz/Achor Bay, 3 is Paramount, and the ones after that were all Dimension movies.. The first Dimension ones are Disney property though. So only third and very recent ones wouldnt make it to Blu-Ray... But imo only the 1 and 2 are worth it.

Hellraiser 1 and 2 are "must buy" movies for me. But I certainly hope they release the full unrated version of the second movie instead of the cut down version.

Barker is definitely one of my favourite authors after great books like Imajica and The Great and Secret Show.

Wouldnt mind seeing Cabal/Nightbreed and Rawhead Rex on Blu-ray either.

I normally loathe remakes but from what I've heard Bustillo and Mauryit are going in a different direction than the originals, so much so that Pinhead and the name Hellraiser may be all the new has in common with the old. Barker seems fully behind them. I just hope Dimension doesn't hinder what they want to do with it.

The Hellraiser series would be a fantastic addition to my Blu collection! I agree, the first two are hands-down must haves, and after that it's just, well, it's just typical sequal crud... Still, I watched them, and, to some degree, enjoyed them. And I'd buy them on Blu just to have the complete set. Sad. Wow, I'm getting depressed! Any way, glad to hear that they're picking the series back up, and that Barker is behind it. Should be pretty promising...

I would think Hellraiser should be coming in the next wave. AB released that one early on (dvd).

Let's hope!
