Default Hellbound: Hellraiser II???

Now that we've seen the release of Hellraiser on blu-ray and the release of Hellbound on 20th anniversary DVD, where is the blu-ray, Anchor Bay. I personally think that Hellraiser II is just as important to the series as the first film. It isn't necessarily better, but it is without question equally as enjoyable.

Anyone else interested? Anybody heard anything?

Dude, chill. It'll come out eventually.

Anchor Bay just re-released a 20th anniversary edition that reportedly used an old transfer.

They most likely need to spend some cash on a better HD transfer, and since it's not a big catalog seller, it'll most likely be a while before the cost is justified.

Lame. Anchor Bay sucks sometimes. I figured that had a hi-def transfer. I didn't purchase it (out of hope for a blu-ray).

I'd buy it in a heartbeat! That's my most favorite Hellraiser movie! I'd rather have that on blu-ray than any of the others (even though I like them all).

That pretty much says it all. They have a large catalog and haven't released very much. Being a smaller studio, it's probably a financial issue.

Great movie! And we need the UNRATED edition including the "lost scene" on Blu-ray!

The "lost scene" can be found on the tin-box DVD release from AB.

I thought the puzzlebox release on blu had part one and two on blu??

Forget about part 2, I demand Part 3 - Hell on Earth on blu first.

It's funny. It's been a long time since I've seen it (about 8 yrs), but I remember liking Hellraiser Bloodline. The concept of going through the different generations to show the creation/history of the puzzlebox is really cool. The film loses its way by the time it ends, but you have to give Hollywood credit for not simply ripping off the original. Many of the Hellraiser films consciously tried to be different and unique compared to the previous.

Unfortunately not in the USA. 1 & 2 are on Anchor Bay, 3 on Paramount and the rest are on Dimension.

Back to the original post Anchor Bay needs to get off their asses and put Part 2 out. They were such a great company during the DVD era releasing several movies a month, many of which were horror catalog titles. Now all they put out are their shitty direct to video releases.

They've released six "classic" catalog horror titles with only one more officially coming soon. Weak!

They got bought out by Starz and Bill Lustig (the man responsible for making AB great during the early DVD days) left to start Blue Underground. Basically, Blue Underground is the new Anchor Bay, and they are doing a completely awesome job on blu-ray.

I would also like to see the rest of the Hellraiser movies on Blu. I would probably buy most on day 1.

Part 2 scared me even more than the original. Man the Dr. after being turned to a Cenobite with the tenticles... one of the scariest monsters ever.
