And I'm going to trash any slipcovers this weekend. I now hate them.

I think most Criterion movies have them. And there's a couple of others, like "Akira" (might be the first printing, I'm not sure now) and the "Halo Legends" BB steelbook.

Or more recently Evangelion 1.11. Also Gunbuster and Diebuster. Yes Akira is 1st printing only for booklet along with slipcover.

I keep them all. If it contains that white sheet with the security sticker. I toss that.

Slipcovers are often cool-looking, but many times they're very poorly constructed. They damage easily, and after a few months they wind up in the trash anyway. I'd rather that the artwork was printed on either mirror-foil stock or holograpghic paper, because it achieves the same effect without the shoddy cardboard.

As for inserts, many times the films I buy don't even have them, but if they do I usually keep them.

I just leave them in the case...sometime I don't even pay any attention to them unless it an actual booklet with information about the movie.

Sure, you can still use the pop-up menu, but without any knowledge of the film, small screenshots are usuless, how can you tell what scene is what? it would be nice if they even went back to putting a piece of text under each image... 'john escapes'.... 'no fate but what we make'.... etc, it would clearly define what chapter you were looking for.

I began the process of removing those "plastic strips" I left on the top of the cases......... removed about 300 and had to take a break to return to family-business........ When I'm done, I may even try to organize my movies in some manner.......... I didn't open them all up to check for inserts though..... I'll plan on trashing them as I go.

I throw all the generic ones. The ones specific to the disc I throw.

What I don't know what to do with are those damn fox cardboard sheets they have put on a few TV series like Dollhouse and The Unit. They don't fit inside, nothing to keep them on outside.

The only inserts I keep are the ones that have digital copy codes and the ones that have to do with the movie. If it's an insert advertising other movies, I usually throw it away.

The only time I keep them is if they are relevant to the film, such as a digital code. I also throw away most slipcovers since they are just an annoyance as far as I'm concerned.
