For those that were wondering if this title could be in 1080 30p or the 30 fps encoded as 1080 60i (Which your display or the player should be able to deinterlace correctly to 1080 60p anyway if it was working correctly), here's an interesting post on 1030p encoding for Blu-ray, just posted by dialog_gvf

I"m pretty sure there's a NIN thread for this release already.
The best news (although Trent doing it would have been even better) is that Elliot Schriner is doing the 5.1 mix - he's amazing. His work on REM and Sting's release is nothing short of brilliant. |

Interesting that MS had to update the VC1 codec because of this title...

Besides the BD having a higher bitrate encode, it will also support multiple angles where the HD DVD can not:

I did find that the only way I was able to hear my DD audio track was setting it to "bitstream". PCM only read as Pro Logic thru my Lexicon. You need it set to bitstream when using the optical cable to receive the DD track otherwise all I got was standard Pro Logic thru the optical cable.

When using HDMI you want the output set to PCM unless you have a TrueHD receiver. |

When you get a TrueHD receiver then you can also use "bitstream" which will send the TrueHD signal through the HDMI natively and let your receiver decode it. |

I just got back from a screening in Dallas, it is a great concert movie. They didn't play any of the extras/alternate views but it was still great; can't wait for the blu-ray to show up!
