What B&Ws do you have? I'm curious to find someone who has the mini-theater, as I was thinking about getting some for the bedroom but I haven't spent much time with mini-systems, and the dealer didn't have any M1's in when I was auditioning.
I do not have the M1's. I have 805S (front channels); HTM4S (center channel), and I think CWM8i wall mount speakers (rear channels). I have a Velodyne DD12 subwoofer. My room is small (12' X 12') but I plan to upgrade the front channels to 803D later this year.

I think the point that many of us are trying to suggest to the Op is to go out and listen to many speakers before making the purchase. Bose has a great marketing team; however, most would agree that there are better choices for speakers for the same price as Bose.

Neither...
If you have to choose one of them, I would go with Bose. As for audio, Sony is not a good name. There are many good secialized brands you can check.

and the AM 16's sound awesum, if you know how to do a proper set-up

i wouldnt do the lifestyle set-up (unless space is a factor) i've wire a few of these into peoples bedrooms, and everything hangs on the wall nicely no exposed wires not even electrical

I agree! Most think they have, until they finally hear something that sounds accurate and nice. Not trying to knock the Bose Owners, but one day you will realize....

saying should be "no dough, no bose"
but buy some crappy brand and say how much better they are

i've got my AM16 hooked up to a sony amp also and my audiophile friends hear it and are incredibly impressed even a few of them have purchased themselves

hahaha, you guys are funny. Please try to get the specs for these. They wont give them to you cuz they know they arent good and they are tweaked for the amatuer listener who sees the marketing and is tricked into thinking they are the best. And then you see the price tag and think, wow they must be great. but in reality its all a part of Bose's impressive marketing plan, which is probably the best part of the company..... how to trick the consumer

haha, if you think so but id say you are dead wrong. but hey, a person running a Bose system with a Sony amp, what do you expect. Go ahead and knock Cambridge, but being cofounded and designed by Henry Kloss must show something. By the way, what did you own of Cambridge? I cant wait to see another Bose commercial tonight, i always enjoy watching those for a chuckle here and there, ahahhaha.

i dont remember that was almost 10 years ago closest would be Newton Series® II MC405 main/center speaker

and whats wrong with sony amps
ive tried onkyo i found their sound equivilant to sony's, at least when it worked had to return the damn thing 3 times, they finally gave me a new one which my buddy bought since he has a hard on for onkyo, he too loved the sound of my bose got his own set, and theres no sound difference

sounds to me like you just like to follow the crowd and not sure what you are talkin about

Just following the crowd, ummm no, but apparently the crowd knows good from bad, maybe you should listen to them and learn a little more about what you are buying yourself. I mean, when almost everyone is saying they arent good for many reasons and you still dont listen.... Well hey, ignorance is bliss I assume. Do me a favor, please tell me what the specs are on your speakers for frequency range?

Talking Bose vs Sony?

First off Sony speakers suck, they have a pour audio line all together short of the ES series stuff, and Bose are only good if you have a small room and want tiny speakers. I would look into Vienna Accoustics, Sonas Faber, James Loudspeakers, Maybe even the Veritas line from Energy. Those speakers kick Ass!
