I think, what you have done is: go to display menu, select HDMI, and here is when it gets tricky, you probably allready have HDMI selected.

I dont have HDMI selected yet, so I get different set of screens, like the test screen, and probably also custom or manuel screen.

I found this on the Sony Playstation website, for North America, but it kind of shows the process. Perhaps there is something on their site for your region which helps.
