I think I'm going to wait till this 72" Vizio comes out before making a judgement call on which has the better picture. The Samsungs out right now, and even the new batch are not 480hz. That also don't have local dimming, much less all the zones this new Vizio is supposed to have (all the Samsungs are rumored to be edge lit). And that brushed steel on the 9000 and I think 8000 really ruin it for me. Is Vizio supposed to have a better picture than Samsung, not in a million years. But the new Vizio has a lot going for it. If integrated WiFi and the other built in goodies weren't enough, it is going to be less than $3500 and 72". Samsungs largest TV this year will be a 65" and it will cost almost double what that Vizio will run. I would reserve judgement on the Vizio before the reviews start coming in on them.
