The best features of DVD cmpared to VHS would be:
higher resolution, won't degrade no matter how much you watch it, and no need to rewind. You still thinking about upgrading to DVD?

I've already upgraded to DVD a long time ago. I just heard someone tell me that DVD will start to wear out after about 1,000 uses. Is that true?

truthfully dvds start to wear out after about 1 use because nobody takes care of them..so i doubt anyone will get to 1k uses...who watches a movie 1k times anyway. yes people say i have seen that movie 1000 times but more like 20

If you burn a disc, watch it was and store it in good conditions, and don't watch it again for a while, how long will they last?

No reason in particular, just wondered. I want to start transferring some of my personal videos to Blu-ray but blank Blu-ray media is too expensive. I have so many personal videos that it will take me years to transfer everything so I was thinking of leaving some on standard DVDs until DVD becomes obselete, which is why I was asking how long DVDs would last.
