Seems like a bunch of tech-snobs here, and not a lot of film fans...... I'm rebuying as much as possible on Blu, because I recognize the improvements over DVD..... but to think all of my DVDs are somehow a measure of my foolishness???? Well.... if you don't enjoy FILM, then I guess you don't understand.
Beta, women everywhere want you right now because of those two paragraphs there. But for the most part, I have to agree. I will never discard my DVDs - (outside of the ones I have replaced, but even then, they have not been discarded, passed on to family members instead) - because it's not like they are going to stop playing all of a sudden or spontaneously combust on my shelf. Honestly! Sometimes you want to watch a movie for the plot, character development, or nostalgia, not because that one scene in [insert hated Blu-ray title here] looks "AEWSUMZ!" (intentional misspelling) in HD. Sheesh. The fervor displayed by a few here is ridiculous.

EDIT: Albeit, I will not get any new releases on DVD, but for movies that we all know will take some time to be released, it is worth it. (How many times has the latter part of that sentence been brought up? Bazillions.
