Without wanting to sound patronising i get the impression that this will work much better with 'younger minds', by that i mean teenagers and those in their early 20's. IE those that think swearing automatically makes something good or that hard violence is an indication of quality. Of course if the movie is genuinely funny and well written that would be great, however the humour in the trailer is very juvenile so it gives me little hope.

I hope this will be a great movie but this trailer does nothing for me. That said neither did Batman vs Superman trailer and that is a very different kettle of fish.

Damn. I came into this thread expecting everyone to be hyping and loving the trailer, surprised at the mix reactions. I loved the trailer, I'm ready for this. I've been waiting since the test footage leaked years ago.

I just watched the trailer again.

And I gotta say, I'm really enjoying all of the comments from the people coming in here calling this trash and juvenile.

Maybe I should go find a citizen Kane thread and take a big dump in there since I find that the most tedious movie I've ever tried to sit through.

I don't understand why some get so upset because another person does not like something they like, so much so that they need to make trolling comments like those above, insulting the people in question for no other reason than that they think differently from you. The childish tone of Deadpool suits you quite well, it seems.

It's a shame the officially released trailers (even the red band version) don't contain everything that was featured in the comicon trailer.

Still nice to have a watchable trailer and I'm really, really looking forward to this.

I like the fact they are going for the R rating and being faithful to the comics, but as someone said already, I kinda feel this will grow tiresome quickly. This looks like something that should of come out in the late 90's, there is nothing really special about this because we've seen it all before numerous times and I fear superhero fatigue is starting to creep in.

People don't like the trailer. So what? They're entitled to that. Deadpool the character is immature and annoying. If people are finding him to be so in the trailer, then they nailed it. Colossus swatting him like a fly is very indicative of what kind of character he is. He's a nuisance. The jokes in any comedy aren't going to land 100%, and especially not with every person, so even I'm not finding some of the jokes funny. That's just the nature of comedy. As long as they find some kind of balance in tone, which they seem to be striving for with the Morena Baccarin scenes, then we'll see how this turns out after years of anticipation.

This is a character whose best friends are a geeky weapons dealer that he abuses and a blind old lady that he kidnapped and eventually became housemates with. He has multiple voices in his head, that he has conversations with. This is a bizarre story. It's clearly not going to be for everyone.

As long as people don't come in here and insult the fans, which they've already done, there's no need to argue like in every other freaking thread. There are plenty of juvenile comedies that are still funny, like Austin Powers or the Zucker Bros.' work.

I'll definitely see this in theaters. First, because if that trailer is representative of the finished product, this is gonna be an awesome flick. And second, because damn it, we need more studios having the stones to make R-rated superhero movies.

He was on CONAN last night & made a dig at GL there as well. Something about not doing a GL2. Tried finding the clip but that Exact one isn't online yet.

I can't find a lot of the old articles but there was news of the footage back in 2012 and some stills were leaked around for two years.

The main reason I asked is that I don't think they were filming "years" ago , tho that article hints at "test footage", & Ryan Reynolds talked about how he's personally been trying to get this made for 12 (??!!) or so years (when he was on Conan last night).

Oh, okay. I've been following his solo attempts at the film for some time so when I refer to test footage that's what I'm meaning. They had costume ideas, the animated footage, some shots of Ryan around six years ago in fittings, etc. Hopefully the long development window wasn't in jest and the final product does well.
