The question is how does Colossus look when he isn't transformed? They're using CGI, if the actual actor isn't that big how does that transition work?

Daniel Cudmore was fine because they just worked around his actual physical form.

Look at the size of the guy (Andre Tricoteux) doing the MoCap ...

The dude is already 6 foot 10. But my guess is we might not even see him non-transformed.

DUDE!!!! let it go!!!!

why does every post you make have to be about the f**king timeline??

pretty sure no one gives a sh!t about the timeline in this movie!!! Especially if you're comparing it to X-Men Origins!!!

people want to see Deadpool!!! PLAIN AND SIMPLE!!!!

I hope they have a joke in the movie that blows your "timeline/continuity" talk completely apart!!

If that is a case, I will laugh.
Until that point, I have the right to consider this Wade Wilson as the same, exact Wade Wilson of X-Men Origins, only with a different life/history.

Said that, I love the Green Lantern jokes.

I would say Deadpool can easily gross 300+ millions dollars worldwide.

I wouldn't be too sure about that. Most ordinary viewers have no idea who Deadpool is, and this quirky kind of humour isn't a surefire hit. The R-rating won't help matters either, nor does the February release date. Mad Max: Fury Road currently sits at $368M which is a GREAT take. Now for all we know, Deadpool might end up a stinker. The reactions to the trailer have been all over the place. Unless they do something spectacular with the forthcoming marketing, I have a very hard time seeing this make more than $200M worldwide.

MM:FR sits at 372M, less or more.

You could be right. Hopefully, it will perform good.

Or it turns out a really well made movie and word of mouth gives it some serious legs.

I'm curious how it'll do that time of year. Are there any other movies coming out around the same time to give Deadpool any competition??

Why? If it gets great reviews, I guarantee it will destroy the box office. It's opening up in February, where it will have little competition. If it is good, it will have legs like Kingsman. Not to mention this is part of the popular X-Men universe, so I'm sure they will play up that connection as well to help it.

Pride and Prejudice and Zombies goes up one week before, and Zoolander 2 premieres on the same date as Deadpool. Both of those titles are aiming for a sort of similar audience as the merc with the mouth, but I think Zoolander might win out there. It seems like a comedy with broader appeal.

IF Deadpool is a great film then it might have legs. But if it's just "good" then chances are it'll crash and burn. Time will tell...

There are too many unknowns at this point.

At least it looks better at this point than the new fantastic four did!!

That's a big if, and that's the thing with comedy, it's very subjective, and the sort of insult-laden, mean-spirited cheap shots that Deadpool mostly goes for might blow up in its face when it comes to critics. I'm not saying the film will be dumb, that it won't be clever in its fourth wall-breaking shenanigans, but the trailer has already divided audiences, and probably critics as well.

Guardians of the Galaxy does seem to have a similar tone, and that turned out to be a cash-cow, but that one also got incredible word of mouth and had the MCU connection. The X-Men brand is strong, but not THAT strong.

I'm not completely sold, in fact the trailer misses more than it hits for me, but I'll go watch it mostly to support the cause of getting more variety in the superhero/comic book genre, as I don't want it to grow stale and samey.

I want a great film, and I'm hoping we'll end up with a great film, but I really don't see this one turning out "great" judging by what we've seen so far, and depending on how the competition is received, it can go both ways.

That's your opinion and you're entitled to it. But for every opinion like yours, there's one that is just the opposite......like mine. I loved the entire trailer and thought it worked very well for this character.

We're 6 months away from this movie and we've seen 1 trailer. We have no real idea what this movie is really about.

All we do know is that it was made by fans of the character and the script has received some serious praise from those that have read it.

Of course it's speculation, I never claimed otherwise.

So it's a script by fans for who? Other fans? Sorry to burst your bubble, but the Deadpool fanbase isn't exactly large last time I checked. He's a niche character, in a niche kind of film. Kingsman worked because it was a fairly traditional spy-action film, but look at other films with the similar kind of meta-humour and/or over the top violence that Deadpool has. Scott Pilgrim flopped, Dredd flopped, Kick-Ass did okay but its sequel flopped. One thing these films have in common is that they have a very small, but also very dedicated fan base that make these films seem more appreciated, recognized and bigger than they are in reality.

Also, Ryan Reynolds isn't exactly box office gold. He's had several chances and most of them are duds. When his films reach success, I'd argue that he's not the main reason for that.

I know that fans of Deadpool love Ryan and his dedication to the project, and so do I. It's genuinely uplifting to see that kind love for the property that he has, but like I said, non-fans of Deadpool don't know that and therefore couldn't care less. For all they know this could be Reynolds doing yet another Green Lantern or R.I.P.D.

Like I said, I'm rooting for this film to do good, and I hope it is good as well, but I'm feeling very worried about this projects' prospects at the box office. Hopefully I'll be proven wrong.

You can be a Debbie-downer all you want.

Reynolds has been campaigning for this character forever. The movie was made by fans of the character. The script was written by the zombieland writers, which zombieland was awesome.

I'm willing to go on faith here. I thought the trailer was fantastic.

But my tolerance for crude humor is a lot higher than most people's I would imagine too.

So anyone that can't enjoy this, too bad for them I guess. At least in getting a movie with the character I've been hoping for.
