I think Alan and Ian are possibilities but I doubt they'll bring back Ellie Sattler. I don't think a lot of people tend to think of her as fondly as the other characters from Jurassic Park.

With JW I feel they crossed over into almost unfeasible sci-fi / fantasy, whereas with JP there was an element of grounded reality, albeit a tad heightened. The training of raptors (their headsets etc), hybrid dinos that are closer to mythical monsters than actual creatures that existed, and a few other flourishes are a far cry from the original "nature run amok" theme. I'm aware the original also bridged a few gaps with the sex-changing frog DNA, but that was the limit of stretching credibility. JW felt like an alternate earth at times.

Not sure how I feel about it tbh; in more considered hands JW could've worked incredibly well (yes, billions of dollars aside).

Why would you think that, she saved the day in JP and JP III.

Well, it's the fourth biggest box office entry ever behind Avatar, Titanic and SW ep. VII so it did work incredibly well, I didn't see that coming, I didn't even expect it to make to the top ten.

I think it's because she had a vagina.

Because she's not as well characterised as Alan Grant and Ian Malcolm.

Yep, that's why I said, "billions of dollars aside." JW was the first film of its kind where I felt the BO haul was... disproportionate to the quality of the film. Lots of people hate Avatar, for various reasons I won't go into here, but I can completely understand how and why it managed to make all that dough. Same with SWTFA and Titanic. JW? I'm still trying to uncover what it was I may have missed.

Not saying you're wrong, but how wasn't she characterised as well as the other two? I may learn something.

She just didn't seem to have much to her personality to me despite being a strong independent woman: no character flaws to speak of or personality quirks.

Strong, independent women in TV and film are great but they need to have a personality beyond that.

True. There was very little, if none at all, growth on her part. I still think she's a very likeable character, perhaps due to the character's passion for her work and her laid-back attitude. She wasn't annoying or "spunky", but just normal I guess. To be fair to her, Alan Grant was the only one in JP1 who underwent any sort of serious character development with the whole learning to be around kids and bringing that protective fatherly instinct to the fore.

Was it good? No
Was it entertaining? Yes

Lots of people hate Avatar for ONE reason and I fall in that category, I'm not going to watch the sequel.
I hate Titanic because it's lame.
I haven't watched SWTFA yet because I was so disapointed of the prequel trilogy and don't have high expectations for this movie and I don't go to theater much unless I'm very excited about a movie.
JW wasn't very good but at least it was entertaining.

Nowadays a movie is a success based on box office score only, it's sad but true.

Not sure why you dismiss the idea. Jurassic World was a huge nostalgia wank and Universal knows that was a big part of its success. Bringing in one of the original actors for a smaller part would be money in the bank.

Agreed. Similar to the success of Star Wars TFA, would be my guess.

Of course the story has to be amazing too. Just don't know where they can go, Jurassic Worlds End?

Dinosaurs take over the planet .... because they inject Human DNA to make the Raptors smarter (Nod to Deep Blue Sea - Planet of the Apes here) ... LOL

Jurassic World 2 = Jurassic World in a major US city

Jurassic World 3 = Jurassic World next to a retirement community, a special needs school and a children's hospital

That sounds so much like an idea Alan Partridge would think of.

I've never realised that I've needed a Dinosaur film where the whole cast consist of kids in wheelchairs until now.

You could argue John Hammond learned that playing with nature is wrong too, especially considering that by The Lost World he seems to have changed his mind about Jurassic Park being a good idea.

I have a little to no memory of the JP sequels, so I'll take your word for it. I knew AG popped up in a sequel (as did IM), but I had no idea JH was in one too.

John Hammond was dying in TLW, which is why that evil corporate guy was trying to seize control of InGen and do whatever he wanted with the dinosaurs. That's one thing I hope this next film doesn't have, an evil corporate suit.
