It's just ridiculous when your trying to sell hi def you still get on new special and anniversary editions all extras in standard def. It's like you only get half the experience you would expect when paying for a special edition or anniversary.

Does it relay cost the studios that much to produce HD extras and offer them along side an HD movie

Im refusing to buy any HD anniversary or special edition until the majority if not all extras are in HD.

Well, it's silly to insist that all extras be in HD if they weren't originally produced that way. Are you going to turn down fantastic interviews and behind-the-scenes footage simply because they were filmed in SD? What about interviews with those who are no longer with us?

Bottom line is that they're extras. They're icing on the cake. If they're in HD, great. If not, no biggie.

If your going to offer a Hi Def product then they should at least on that bases offer extras in HD. How would you like it say a few years back you bought a DVD and the extras where in VHS quality.

In case you did not know as well there's something called remastering. The majority of these extras do have the potential to be remastered for HD. Of course some content can't be remastered but a sizable amount of it can so why are studios being lazy and offering us content we know can be presented in HD.

Uhhh...you can't "remaster" something to HD quality. You can upconvert it...but that doesn't do much.
You clearly don't know what you're talking about.

personally dont care too much about extras being SD as usually they are as old as the film itslef like a featurette. i rarely get round to watching them all anyway..

priorities:

good transfer/ quality

remaster if neccasary

good packaging/ presentation

as long as a blu has these things im not too bothered. i want it to look good on my shelf as well as my tv.

I prefer the Returns cover. They stuck to the original.

If sony, Fox, lionsgate, disney, universal, and paramount can provide extras in high def, why not warner?
the movie is already on the cusp of being bit-starved and probably will be on a BD25 so why not do a full BD50. I believe warner, for their catalog titles, are authoring these encodes to fit specifically on a BD25 instead of just doing the best that they can and let that determine the outcome.

Wow... this came out the year I was born. The sound of "20th Anniversary" makes me feel old.

For some titles, this may be true. All studios should be aiming to impress new customers. I don't get it.

I completely agree. Its like purchasing an album at 320 kbps and getting the bonus tracks in 192 kbps. It just doesn't make sense.

Sure, some of you out there don't care, but then again some of us don't care about some of the trivial things that ya'll care about. I want the complete experience in HD, since that is what I am paying for. I think everything on the disc should be in HD, not just the feature. It may seem unreasonable or silly to some, but then again so does complaining about cover art and how your Blu Ray discs look stacked up next to each other.
