Before we can ponder the finer details of this Sapphic utopia, though, the menfolk literally crash the party. After one of the most agreeably bizarre action scenes ever staged – a beachfront battle-of-the-sexes between men with guns and pirouetting women with bows and arrows – Diana is compelled to enter “the world of men” and stop the war, aided by her sword, shield and magic lasso.
Thanks for Posting it

Well, I was just trying to be a little Humorous in my last Post,

It's all part of their new plan pay critics to give DC movies outstanding reviews. Then they use subliminal messaging and hypnotize the general audience to not go see the film. They be like, you can't have both, good reviews and make money.

Christ, the Guardian's review is just stupid.

I did laugh at the weaponized Smurfette line.

I think Wonder Woman is currently the highest rated comic superhero movie on rotten tomatoes with 98%.

This sounds legitimately really good, and it's not another copy paste Marvel movie. Could be the first superhero movie I've voluntarily gone to see (IE not because someone else wanted to) since the first Avengers.

But the buzz for Wonder Woman and Ghostbusters aren't even on the same level here, outside of a few crybabies who were offended they couldn't go to the women's-only screenings.
I would have to disagree. The buzz for Ghostbusters was huge, mainly due to its controversy and the fact that an iconic comedy was being rebooted.
The buzz for Wonder Woman may not be the same kind but it is on the same level, outside the clear biased thinking and attitude you have going on.
The buzz for WW is based on the fact that this movie is years in the making.

I'd rather see this new monster universe take off because I'm interested in seeing an epic creature features instead of the glut of supernatural movies in the market and really, it's better than another comic book movie.
This Dark Universe they have going on could be something. I'm just hoping it's done right and its focus is on entertainment.

In the end this will make so much money I think we can be assured right now of a second WW movie eventually. Never underestimate having a good looking actress play the main role to help with the box office. Or a secondary role as we saw in Suicide Squad.
I don't give a damn how good looking the lead actress is, if the movie sucks, count me out. I prefer to think with the head that's on my shoulders.
I prefer to see a movie that does not insult my intelligence on any level, whether its false role models or superficial elements.

Are critics afraid of a new era PC feminist backlash? Since the movie isn't awful, might as well give it a pass?? If it was bad, they couldn't look the other way but since it's mediocre, cut it some slack and praise it to keep the social justice crowd off their case.
Everyone is using the RT score as the main measuring stick.
I, however, read all of the reviews there thus far and from my observation, the majority of the reviews does have that angle to it and are using as a soapbox for its politics, though many of them acknowledge its flaws and lame villains but the majority of them are in fact making it political.
Though a few positive reviews are were unbiased and it seems that they legitimately enjoyed the film and went into details on why the same with the mixed ones but for some reason, RT listed them as fresh which is why RT is outright useless as a measuring stick for quality.
The negative review from The Guardian seems to be complaining that it wasn't "feminist" enough for them and the second negative review gave more detail on the movie's issues etc.
It'll be interesting how others will shape out.

You're suffering from burn-out too? Nice to know I'm not the only one.
However, the reviews have not changed my mind in the slightest.
Logan has good reviews and is widely acclaimed and I still haven't seen it yet.
In fact, I haven't seen a another CBM in four years since Man of Steel and I have not looked back since.

Except you have. The fact that you're constantly posting about them, or even posting at all about them, shows that you have looked back.

If you'd truly moved on, you wouldn't be talking about them at all. If you're burnt out and had no interest, you wouldn't be spending your time looking up review scores and reading people's thoughts on the films.

Ahhh, nice to see the cliched annoying topics pop up again (box office speculation, superhero movie burnout), so I will add one to the list:

Wonder Woman kills! OMG! She kills a lot of Germans just following orders and she kills some evil Germans too! How awful!!! Marvel would never let their heroes kill! These movies are raping my childhood!

There is a good chance that the only person in the movie version Justice League who does not kill will be Flash because he just runs fast and has a good sense of humor.

Well, from what I've heard and read about the origins of WW, it was more than a propaganda piece and promoted outright domination that would make Hitler jealous.

Nothing to be done about that, it will continue to happen. All we can do ( and this applies to all movies) is hope to find those diamonds in the rough, so to speak. There are certainly more bad films than good released in any given year, and I'm glad to discover some gems along the way.

Wonder Woman is garnering the kind of hype that is standard for a comic-book movie and there is a certain excitement because it is the first female-centric comic movie in ages, that's fine and I hope it delivers. If you wind up not liking it for aesthetic reasons, I'm sure you can explain and justify your criticisms to those you discuss it with. I like the character of Wonder Woman, period-piece films and this just looks like it could be fun popcorn entertainment. If it isn't, I'll say so and move on.

I can't tell you how many times through the years I'll get excited for something, get burned, and just go on the next thing. We moviegoers and fans are a pretty optimistic and resilient bunch; there's always something else to get excited for down the road no matter how many disappointments we take in. We're always looking forward to that next great or entertaining movie, and when we get it, it feels like it was worth all the drek we had to endure to get there.
Your response made a lot of sense and made a good point. I realize that nothing can be done about the onslaught of superhero movies or even CG animated flicks or Disney's remake factory so I guess the best thing to do is to try and try to find the few mushrooms that manage to rise above the crap.
I haven't lost the faith. I know they're are still good flicks out there, blockbuster or otherwise but it's just hard nowadays to find them these days but I won't quit searching.

LOL

At least after Guardians 2 no one can seriously say MCU heroes don't have a significant body count on their hands. Maybe this argument will die along with the several dozen in that film.

I said I've looked back in terms of watching them. I still have opinions and thought about them, whether positive or negative like every one else here and I do not hate the genre and I want to make that crystal clear if anyone is assuming it.
BTW, this a forum and not a fan club.
