Given what you've described as your perfect type of race game, I would steer clear of the F1 Championship game, which I love. It is a very realistic racing sim, and with crash damage you can be out of the race quickly.
I haven't tried Midnight Club: Los Angeles yet, but if it's anything like past Midnight Club games you'll probably like it. Need for Speed games would be good for you to check out too. I'd suggest Need for Speed: Carbon or the upcoming game NFS: Undercover over Pro Street though. And for the record, Gran Turismo 5: Prologue is an amazing game. It's easily the best racing game on PS3, or any other console, for that matter. Racing sims aren't for everyone though. |
