Wondering if anybody has experience to share with this sub?
1200 watts, 27-140 Hz, overall freq resp 22-200 Hz, 8inch, with remote and 5year warranty. Polk has them listed as a $900 item. I just ordered one for $350. Sounded worth checking it out to me. Just curious if anybody has opinions about it? I am betting it will be better than my old Velo VRP-1200. |

Do you care more for aesthetics or performance? You are in the same price range as the A2-300 ($350 shipped). I'm sure you'll be happy with it because it looks nice and all but it is an 8". If you shop around, you can find Martin Logan Dynamo subs for example for $350 like on Audiogon.

If I don't like it, I can always return it. Just thought a 1200 watt sub for $350 was hard not to get my attention.... even if it is 8 inch. What I was really wondering about was feedback from anybody that actually has this sub to see how folks felt about it.

Please post pics and impressions when you get it. Here's my thoughts on the eD. Mind you, I don't own one. However, I think it's a great sub performance-wise. I think it'll blow the doors off your house if that's what you're looking for it to do. I think that it's obviously sturdy and well-constructed. ...I also think it has the sexyness of a sea tortoise in granny panties. It's a humongous box with a truck-bed liner sprayed on (yes, I know you can get matte finish) that would just dominate many a home theater. Its strength is also its weakness- most subs in this price range aren't able to perform up to those stats, but that's because they're smaller subs. I think you should only get one if you either like the looks of the thing or have someplace to hide it. |

I think peak power is rated at 2400 watts.

I'm very curious about this sub too. Please tell me your thoughts on it and tell me what you have it set up with. I've had my eye on this sub and for $350, it sounds like a great bargain when comparing it to the original MSRP. My max limit on a sub is $600. I want to try my best to avoid that max price range by at least $100.
Oh and no, I do not have one ounce of interest in the ED sub. It's too massive for my taste and I am not fond of the looks at all. So please do not refer this sub to me. I mean no disrespect. Last edited by Bourne1; 01-21-2009 at 10:03 PM. |
