Thanks for the email WB. NOW AVAILABLE! And Best Buy is used in the email specifically too. What a joke.

It is possible the UK are also suffering with availability of stocks. I pre-ordered a long time ago and Amazon UK still haven't shipped my copy despite the UK release being yesterday.

$29.99 at Fry's for anyone with a store in their area. Available off the shelf with pristine slips.

I hadn't pre-ordered... ordered the UK release since I had a credit on Amazon and it's cheaper / available compared to other options.

They sure crammed a lot of languages onto the included new Blu-ray disc for the UK release though, looks like a few more than the US release - can anyone comment on the video bitrate of the UK and US new Blu-rays?

I thought 4K was more popular than 3D? Do they have The Matrix 4K in China?

I'd also assume that that old CRT was a heck of a lot smaller than your fancy new 4K TV. As panels get better and better (and larger and larger), you're going to realize how crappy an older source like DVD is - and has always been. Your post reads like you believe CRT's were innately "better" displays, which really isn't the case.
It's true, CRT size was smaller compared to flat HDTV's, but things like colors and image pop were totally amazing on CRT, and today even on my current HDTV's (both sony LCD and panasonic PDP) picture is not nearly so perfectly natural and vibrant at the same (colors looks REALLY alive on CRT even from SDR content). I still haven't seen HDTV that would match vivid and CRT like colors from SDR content.

I have to say, the rabbit cover isn't that bad in person and the slipcover is even more gorgeous in person so it kinda balances everything out.

Why is the US release a BD-66 disc while the UK release is a BD-100 disc?

Audio tracks up the wazoo. Figure the video encode is the same.

I don’t think we are, I didn’t order mine until the weekend before release day and it was here on release day.

It’s still in stock.

Going to try my luck tracking this down at a local Redbox with today's news about LA being one of the new six test markets for 4K (and Matrix supposedly being one of the launch titles).

My copy arrived today from Amazon safely. I’m really disappointed that so many people are having issues finding this in stores. Best of luck everyone.

I love how the falling code is more blue behind the "own it now" text in that email. The green was getting to be a little dated and that just spruces it up a bit. A Steelbook with the slipcover art and the falling code in that blue color on the back would've been fantastic.
