Both are gonna be fantastic TV's. Personally, I know that IR is only temporary, but I couldn't stand it, and although burn-in is extremely unlikely to happen I would, personally still buy the LCD. Plus I would not want to wait the 1-2 months before I can play my Xbox 360 for the break-in period.

I have seen a 700u or 70U or whatever, and I have a sammy 4061, and my buddy loves my TV, and I love his, Honestly his has a little better black levels, but nothing that makes me regret buying my sammy. He says he likes my TV better, but I think he likes the fact that LCD's are a little brighter.

either way you cannot go wrong they are both excellent TVs. Whatever your heart says, that is the one to purchase.

the 750 adds

pre-loaded content
Enjoy pre-loaded high definition content, such as cooking recipes, fitness exercises, educational games for children and even a photo gallery.

ultimate picture quality
Full HD (1080p) contains 1.5 times more scanning lines than conventional HD TVs. That means more pixels, more details and a better picture. A resolution that is approximately twice as much as conventional HD TVs, creates the most perfect picture imaginable.

DLNA
Welcome to the era of 21st-century television! SAMSUNG's added a new level of functionality to its HDTVs with DLNA CERTIFIED™ connectivity. Now, your compatible Samsung HDTV can remotely access your PC's personal media so that you can download music, video, and photos and enjoy them anywhere in your home where your TV is, using the same remote control as your TV.

Aside from that they have identical contrast ratio's, screen sizes, HDMI ports, and everything else. If you don't need the above features then I would say just get the 650 model. The only thing is that middle feature, I don't know if that means it better at processing the lines of motion, I think a lot of tv's suffer there and if that is what it is refering to then that is nice to have. But I am not sure.....

To callas01:

Thanks. I also found a forum where they were comparing the 2 and figured the 650 would be a better buy for me. I don't need that extra content built in.

Small detail for those who like aesthetics, I really like the 750's bezel over the 650. Price fluctuates on Amazon, but when I bought my 750, it was only $80 more than the 650

You should see the new "Z" series Panasonics.....sweeeet! 1" thick.

WOW, I saw the 950 today, and man, I think I just found plasmas equal. It was across the room from a Pioneer elite, and I was just floored by the amazing picture that thing had. Both had been calibrated using a disc and Geez, that was awesome to look at those 2 TV's. On a side not, the XBR8 was not quite as nice, but close and there was a Toshiba there, that was looking excellent too.

Does anybody out there know if you can use the PS3 with the A650's anynet function? I really would like it to auto shut down and auto power up with the PS3 as well as change the input automatically. I tried it but can't get the thing figured out.

I think that the anynet function only works when connecting a Samsung blu-ray disc player to your Samsung HDTV.

I was on the fence between the 650 and 630 but i have to many windows for the 650. I think its a better looking TV than the 650 to, I like the square base and TV is thinner and made completely of the piano black finish not just the frame.

I was just looking at amazon and didn't see anything on the a630 being all piano black. I want to get a 2nd piano black lcd, do any of theses samsung models come with that color? I hate the red touch of color; it matches nothing that I own.

if you don't like the red the A950 or A860 have blue ToC. The ToC is so faint on the A630 models you have to shine a flashlight on them to see the red. It is not really visable.

Still up in the air right now but I might go for the Sammy A650 46inch or the 40 inch. The pic quality is outstanding and I love te red bezel design. I will make my final descision this weekend. Tax time!!!!!!

I went to a Ken Cranes on Tuesday afternoon and saw the 950 and it was there with a Pioneer Kuro, and they had them both calibrated and I am telling you that I wish I had the opportunity to get a 950. Going back and forth between the 2 tv's I couldn't tell a bit of difference. They were the 2 most awesome tvs I had ever seen. Also a calibrated Toshiba, don't know what model 52" though and that was really nice too. They were all playing blus.
