Is sending an LPCM to the receiver with the player (Blu-ray players for example) decoding the audio faster than bitstreaming in general? By faster I mean when you start playing a movie does the audio get detected faster when a player decodes the audio instead of the receiver decoding the audio?

A receiver will have a delay in outputing the sound in audio bitstreaming since it has to decode the audio signal. LPCM audio is usually faster since the audio gets decoded in the player.

You need to set your player to output bitstream if you want to get Dolby Atmos otherwise PCM is just fine.
