Then that means it's just the first film, no 2 pack.

It was never officially announced as a two pack. Had it been a two pack then I could see the original SLP being what it was. I complained a bit earlier in this thread that the original SLP was too high. At least someone came to their senses and saw the same thing I did.

Obviously, I came to CES to check out the latest Blu-ray developments, so let's have a quick software update first. I've already covered Sony's Ghostbusters announcement, so there's no need for an update there, though I did learn that Ghostbusters 2 is being held for a special release of its own

Not that they wouldn't try releasing G2 (visual hint: ) as part of the promotion, seeing as they usually can't sell it on its own.

I'm really glad they separated the 2 movies as I only want the first one. Don't much care for the second but the first is a classic. I also want the game.

Am I the only that hates the green covers? Love the black one for the game, though. That's what the movies should have IMO.

The black covers are WAY better, dude! They're so much better that I had to write "way" in all caps. That's serious business right there.

I didn't do any research on this, and I'm not trying to call you out or anything; but didn't Tron (1982) have a good amount of CGI? Also, I think Star Wars had some CGI...

Tron's CG is not photorealistic. It works because the art design of it is SUPPOSED to look like computer graphics.

Star Wars had only practical effects in the original release. When it was redone in the 90s as the "special edition", they used some CG then.

I still say that the scene is from Ghostbusters II. Why advertise the first Ghostbusters with a scene from Ghostbusters II. It doesn't make sense. But there are many things in life that don't make sense. Either way if it is the first film only I am still buying day one and if I have to wait for II than I will.

Because
A) they wanted to have a sound bite of Bill Murray saying "Who ya gonna call?" for marketing purposes (oyy, that they had to mercenarily stick that in the second film... ), and
B) they may have had the GB2 print prepared ahead of time for use, whether or not they were originally planning to release the duo way back before the first delay.

...It ain't over till the press statement. -_-

The Black Hole - 1981 - longest sustained CG sequence on film up to the point, during the opening credits

TRON - 1982 - Do I need to say a thing?

But yeah, no CG in Ghostbusters. Those FX were all done the old fashioned way! Hand-drawn lightning and proton beam effects, puppets and stop-motion for the ghosts and monsters, matte paintings on glass, and lots and lots of old fashioned optical compositing. Gotta love the good old days...
