And the review I quoted was the one hosted here, written by Martin Liebman. If you don't consider his review to be reliable, well... I'm sorry.

The film is not grainy; wasn't meant to be or shot to have it (a la Bourne Trilogy for example) and the transfer is very faithful to the original; naturally it will have some - like you accurately pointed out, it was shot on Super 35 but beyond that, it's very smooth looking, even for a film-shot motion picture.
