That stung Theon. Then when they're surrounded and Bran says Theon, you're a good man. Thank you. That completed the redemption and lit a fire in Theon for the last push.

I don't think that stung Theon, it was meant to comfort him as in you are back home, you're part of our family and this home.

I have no doubt that the episode was graded darkly and people are going to complain about it no matter what, but I also believe that HBO's streaming quality, coupled with the number of people watching the feed all at once, probably exacerbated the issue to some extent. Dark scenes are the weakness of any streaming platform on any television.

Take a poor streaming service being hit with tons of traffic and add in dimly lit content and you're asking for a mess in terms of overall picture quality.

Yeah, I have super fast internet and a pretty nice TV and I was still having some issues last night, so I can only imagine what it was like for people with lower quality screens and worse connections. Not a good combo for dark content. And add the fact that the scenes weren't blocked very well to track the action, and it was just a really weird episode.

Yes get a better TV. It seriously looked amazing for me, rewatched it a couple hours back with daylight seeping in my front room. Looks good

Harsh, OK I get it. It wasn't everyone's cup of tea. But I thought the whole "wight's roaming the halls" scene was a throwback to where Arya was in season 1. Where she had her "dancing lessons" where she chased cats....it was a revisit to those old sets inside Winterfell....possible our last detailed look inside since the action is likely going to move to Kings Landing. Arya's terror mirrored hers when her father was taken captive and Syrio Forel was (prolly) killed by Kingsguard...as she escaped. The wights' violation of Winterfell enhanced by wandering the same halls. I thought it was another stroke of artistic genius.

Staying in Calgary right now, my buddy and I could have watched at 7pm MST. But we wanted to wait until it was dark outside to watch it. We went to avengers at 930. Got home at 1am and turned it on. What a great birthday celebration.

I saw at least one or two of the giants get burned during one of the Dragon fires.

I know a lot of people think the Dothraki didn't make a dent. But I believe on the front lines they at least took out the mammoths and bears and possibly a giant.

Here's the issue, he's not an undead like wht Wights he creates from corpses who serve him and he's not as stoic as his generals. We know this because of him doing things for dramatics and also his smile towards Danerys when she tried to fry him with dragon fire. He has human like tendencies because he was once a human and although turned he's not a complete undead like Wights.

He did not count on her catching it.

Yeah, you just look at how quick it all happens and there's a split second where he realises what's gonna happen. It's realistic and all based on his hubris of how he caught her and i believe if the gif showed that, you'd see a smile!? Because his general saw her and he used that sight to catch her.

I believe he was betrayed by his knights. One of them saw Arya flying but didnt say nothing.

See above. NKs hubris was that he just saw her coming thanks to his general and let his guard down and got killed.

I think people have more of an issue with the dark due to the compression that happens OTA and on demand as well as sometimes having poorly calibrated TVs for darker content. Main issue is the compresion though.
